This girl is one week from seed. Maybe I’m over anxious but I thought she’d be bigger. The peat cube is damp. Gets a few sprays from a water mister everyday. pH of the water is 5.8-6.0. She’s about 6 inches under aMars II 900. Temp in the room is 73-75. No nutes.
Thanks for any advice /opinions.
Imo it looks a little rough
Ya kinda hard to tell, did shell get stuck on it or something?
When did she sprout? Under a dome? Humidity? Soil looks pretty wet. I agree that it looks a little troubled. They can look “strange” their first couple days out of the dirt. Everyone here will be happy to help. Welcome to the forum!
Hi @Verndoc. She sprouted 5 days ago. She was under a dome but I removed it last night for better light and temperature control. She’s not in dirty, that’s a peat plug. Humidity now is about 60%.
Hi @dbrn32.
Yes, the shell is still on. Should I remove it, carefully, with tweezers?
Ya, just be gentle. If it doesn’t want to come off don’t force it.
Thanks @dbrn32. I’ll give that a shot. This is my first one so I’m very nervous, anxious, and excited.
I understand, we’ve all been there.
Congrats on the baby, your in good hands I’ll be sitting back watching her grow
Well, I killed her. Put my Mars II 900 WAY too close. My new girl is doing much better. Glad I had her in paper towel already. The LED makes her color look but she’s nice and green.

Update
I’m not the lighting guru but you should consider starting your plants w a t5 flouresent light. Seedlings can be successfully started with a cheap setup. @dbrn32 can give you an economical solution especially if you’re just growing a couple plants. Concerned for you that the LED may not be the best way to start the seedlngs. I’m not the lighting guy though. Get a Humidity dome over your plant. Seedlings need higher humidity. Get a grow dome or you can use a clear bottle or solo cup to cover her up. I wouldn’t recommend spraying the plant. Water on the leaves can damage the leaves if the light is too intense. They don’t need it either. Overwatering is one of a new growers biggest mistakes. Hope this helps.
@Verndoc Yes, that helps. Thank you. I do have a dome. I just took it off for the pic.
They definitely don’t need a lot of light early. You can use bigger light but need to keep it up. Also, they need very little water that young too. You can usually just give a mist with spray bottle and maybe mist inside of dome.
