I have just converted to Coco Pearl , which.is 70% coco coir , 30% perlite. Transplanted from 1 gal. Air pots into 5.5 gal. Air pots. Put a gallon of mixed nutrients in all 4 5.5 gal pots, ph’ed of course. . What’s happening is where root systems aren’t totally developed in larger pots drying out is taking time . So be it. First question comes on bag of. Coco pearl it says manually water each day, which doesn’t make sense until last watering has a least partially dried out. Maybe later in grow when there is a full mass of roots to absorb large amounts of nutrients, I could see it. I do know to feed every watering as there isn’t any soil. Any ideas on this subject , not new to growing but new to hydroponics in pats. Any info or tips will be greatly appreciated
Coco-coir doesn’t need to dry out and it’s actually kinda bad if it does.
It doesn’t necessarily have to be watered daily but you see the best results the more frequent the feedings.
Google “high frequency fertigation in coco-coir” and you’ll find a plethora of information.
It’s one of the easiest methods that gives huge yeilds…
It does need watered well before it drys out.
Coco-coir is nothing like soil in this regard.
It is impossible to over water with coco-coir as it’s a form of hydroponics.
Letting coco-coir dry out causes the risk of salt build up that can cause lockout and mess with ph ultimately leading to an unhealthy plant.
Daily watering or even watering multiple times a day is best or some sorta constant bottom feed set up like autopots or recirculating dripper systems are ideal with coco-coir and perlite…

This experiment with coco coir is to enhance past success. Fermintation article was invaluable thanks again. Harvest from 5 months ago which I’m smoking now , cured out at 24% THC. Need little better. I believe this info will put me over the top…have great evening all makes sense now….
