New to ilgm, first grow advice?

Hello! I’m new here so I’m just saying hi, and I wanted input on my first grow…does it look healthy? Still in veg, but plan to flower soon.

There’s plenty of information in this site,a boatload and most around here are quick to jump in and try to help. So happy growing

Answer these simple questions the best you can.
If you do not know, or do not use something; Just say so = NA

Strain; Type, Bag seed, or NA

Soil in pots, Hydroponic, or Coco?

System type?

PH of runoff or solution in reservoir?

What is strength of nutrient mix? EC, or TDS

Indoor or Outdoor

Light system, size?

Temps; Day, Night

Humidity; Day, Night

Ventilation system; Yes, No, Size

AC, Humidifier, De-humidifier,

Co2; Yes, No

Welcome to ILGM forum
Looking good to me @Legalinmaine

After zooming in you might want to keep your eyes on the color. Almost looks like a deficiency starting. Some yellowing of tips and a little on the edges. I sill think it looks awesome, though!

Thanks! I had some discoloration that started a couple weeks ago but I think I solved it a few days ago, maybe a week ago.

I think I just posted this in the wrong place…nope. I’m still getting used to this forum lol

Strain; Type, Bag seed, or NA
It was a good strain, from bag. At the time I was smoking sour diesel, Durban, and another I can’t remember. I couldn’t believe I found a seed in it, I remember that.

Soil in pots, Hydroponic, or Coco?
Soil, ffof/happy frog to start(1 gal), then transplanted to 2 gallon with MG organic(mistake, had problems) so transplanted again to 3 gallon smart pot with promix bx, and one more time to a 7 gal fabric pot with bx.
With great white myco

System type?
Hand water

PH of runoff or solution in reservoir?
*The recent deficiency/stunt- I think due to soil ph. Hadn’t checked runoff for a while and it was really low, around 5, maybe even 4.8. So I flushed with ph 7.5 and added organic powdered eggshells to soil. I have always used rain, melted snow, and distilled phd to 6.5. Idk how the soil ph became so low. I was able to get the runoff to 6.5, and the new growth looks better, and the discoloration has stopped, maybe even recovered a bit.

What is strength of nutrient mix? EC, or TDS
Unfortunately I don’t know the ec or tds, always used 1/4-1/2 strength 5-1-1 fish, earth juice catalyst, 8-2-1 guano tea, and 0-10-0 guano I recently added to the tea, and a little in the soil

Indoor or Outdoor
In
Light system, size?
Started with cfl, added 300w led, and another 300w led

Temps; Day, Night
75-80, 60-65

Humidity; Day, Night
50-65, 65-70

Ventilation system; Yes, No, Size
Small fan on top vent hole, pulling air up through screened vents

AC, Humidifier, De-humidifier,
No need

Co2; Yes, No
Not really, I use 3 separate gallon jugs with yeast/sugar, two other bottles with plain water to monitor CO2 output, which is usually 5 bubbles/second. I think output is good, but it’s probably sucked out when I have fan on. Sometimes I seal it up so the CO2 get down to the plant.

My first grow, I LST it from about 10"-12" tall-currently, also top and fimmed. It’s about 41" wide, 22" tall right now. I had planned to keep it as a mother but I won’t have the room to keep it and clones so im going to flower it as soon as it’s 100% again.
Some of my methods are most likely frowned upon, due to budget and or access to store bought products but I think they’re working.

It’s also a 4x4x6’ tent. Lights are about 30" from plants, and I’m always sliding them around so there’s equal light hitting all parts of the plant.

I also have a white 150w heat lamp that I’m not using but I’ve read it helps the plant flower. Anyone tried it?

It seem to go well :+1:Just a thing or two your nutrients are low in P-K and when you gone a go in flowering it will be judicious to consider to elevate those and give full strength of the already given by slowly elevate them, it seem you are under feeding them @garrigan62 @Majiktoker could be more accurate then me and confirm or denied my suspicion :innocent:

Maybe a little more potassium a little less nitrogen in flower and your all set

Holy crap this is gone be a monster, but how long have you vegged this plant I might ask ? You need a trellis net and some zip ties to train this plant with and switch it to 12\12 .

Like I said, it was going to be a mother so time wasn’t an issue. That being said, when I started it, it wasn’t in a tent and the room was too cold. It took I think a month to get to 8"-10".( I also had fungus gnats get into it from other plants nearby so I’m sure that stunted it too. They’ve been gone for quite a while now.) Then I put it in a closet with more light and started training it, tying the main stem almost horizontally so It could grow basically around the pot in a spiral as It got older. As the secondary shoots came out if they were taller then the rest, I’d tie them down and outward so everything was level. As it got older I started topping and fimmed a couple. Now I think it’s a monster and close to flower.
So back to the original question.

I also couldn’t get nutrients for it until the beginning of November. After I started giving it food it took off. And I don’t think I had adequate light until beginning of December. I added one 300w led in the beginning and then another one at the end of December.

I can’t let it get much bigger or my lighting won’t be enough in flower. I might have to cut some as it is, and move them closer in flower. Does that sound right? They’re 300w viparspectras, so not the best but the plant seems to do fine them.

Here are some LST photos. The notes are for my journal, just ignore them. When I’m allowed to post more i guess I could post a photo journal with my notes if anyone Is interested. I don’t know if what I was doing was good or bad, so the input I get could help.

Can you suggest how much/what would you be feeding right now?

Wow  good pictures teaching for LST , I definitely save them for futur referencing , thanks @Legalinmaine :+1::ok_hand::v:

Awesome!!! As for nutrients, I use Fox Farm Trio. Works for me but I’ve never used anything else so I’m sure others would have good suggestions. Something organic perhaps.

Can I use high doses of this for flowering? I know it’s supposed to be used with others but all I have is 8-2-1, 0-10-0, 5-1-1. It’s the highest ratio of “K” that I have…with molasses?
