Hey brother I assume watering too, over watering is rare, under watering most likely, my system can be used in other types of soil not just miracle grow potting mix, watering then allowing time for oxygen to permeate the soil but careful not to allow the root zone to dry as it causes stress to the plant, causing stunting and burnt yellowing leaf. And the only other thing is using seed starter soils, most are straight peat moss with absolutely no nutrients, watering then needs at least half dose nutrients to keep little ones from green and happy.

I germinated five bean’s, I didn’t expect all to pop so now I have one in 70/30 coco again and started it the way I did last try. I pre moistened it just like all the others (like you do) with jacks 321 300 ppms & 6.0 ph. I’ll spray it with a couple squirts a day until it pops up. I’ll take any recommendations you have @Dennis62 or anyone else who wants to chime in. Thanks in advance

hey brother coco and perlite is a awesome medium and breathes well so watering every few days with Jack’s is great, and yes I keep top 1/2 wet every day too till they pop. Doing a great job and your last grow was absolutely awesome with great yields for autos, beautiful my friend. @Dennis62 I read that watering Evey few days is suggested in veg and every day in flower is possible too even If it’s not needed. I’m having problems with seedlings. My last attempt they got 8" tall and stopped growing. If I can get this one right I plan on staying with the coco.
Realy depends on plant size and how fast it drys some feed small amouts but multiple times a day but when small i would think you would have to water at least once a day every day coco is hard to over water but it can be done and feed every time coco needs to stay moist thats why im a dirt guy i dont want to water that much

I will describe what I do growing in coco. I start seeds in plugs and use distilled water to keep the plug moist not wet. Once the seedling pops , I move to either a solo or half gal pot. In the first week I water/feed to slight run off every few days. Once the roots establish and they begin to grow, I feed daily. In 3 weeks they will be on my reservoir using auto pots in 3 gal pots. In flower you may need to feed multiple times a day. For this reason many coco growers use some type of automated watering system. Google coco for cannabis, it gives an excellent explanation on coco watering practices. I hope this helps. I have some clones in half gal pots now and am watering about 8 oz at a time once a day. Coco is an awesome media once you dial it in, good luck
In coco, from seedlings I’ll water in a ring around leaf edges. Once edges reach edge of pot. Ill saturate the top for a couple weeks. Then water to runoff every day until they quit drinking at the end of flower.
Edit: for the new seedlings I wouldn’t water until they pop up. They have plenty of water from soak to pop and be up a day or two before watering. If they haven’t popped yet.

I think you’re fine spraying. If that shell is stubborn I’ve helped them off with a fresh razor blade before, very carefully.
@SausageMahoney do you get runoff with that amount of water?
When I water every few days should I get some down to the tap root with it being longer than the plant is tall? @SausageMahoney sorry I’m a little stoned
Ive got 2, 1gallon pots it. It takes about 3/4 gallon each to get runoff.

The coco will dry out fairly quickly. For me I go by plant size. If my plant is as big as the pot in width and depth, I’ll start watering to runoff. I picture the roots an a mirror image of the plant until they fill the pot. But you do want to get water to all roots at that point. It’ll take a little time but you can learn to read the plant. Ive often let mine go unwatered ( because im lazy) to the point the leaves droop limp and water then and they pop back up. If you go a few days and the plants don’t droop, you’re fine. If the do, hit em with a drink.
Here is a link for coco and seedlings. There are many other articles on that site explaining the process for veg and flower. I kind of follow this path with my seedlings. Coco is different than soil and should be treated differently.
I just got in and saw the tag from @Crazy81 . Coco needs frequent fertigation, multiple waterings per day, I tried it at once a day and had ph climbing and all sorts of whacky numbers, working with @Low on it, I started feeding twice a day and upped the EC and PH fell right back in line. Coco drains so well that one watering a day will not cut it especially in flower. When I started plants in it, I just kept it moist at all times, and had roots out the bottom in just over a week, they got watered to runoff after that. Coco is a fast growing media, but it requires more work and user input than others. That’s what I love about Promix, fast growth like coco, easy to change ph and EC like coco, no extra cal mag or buffering the media, and 2-3 days between waterings depending on stage. If you want to use coco without the water hassles, think of Autopots or self watering bases, combine it with a reservoir and watering gets much easier.
