Upgraded to a 3x3 tent tent and I’m wondering how to proceed with lighting.
The plan is to grow 4 plants. One in each corner which I’m sure will gradually be pulled closer to the center as time progresses. (There’s quite a bit of room in there)
Regarding lighting. I have 3 Vivosun Aerolights (VSA200SE) 200w. Would all 3 be necessary for a successful grow, or would 2 be sufficient?
Im sure theres such a thing as too much light and of course too little. I just want to be sure my girls are getting everything they need.
Not necessarily. You can push ~1,200 PPFD for max results. >1,200 PPFD does not help unless CO2 is introduced. I run my plants at 1,100 to 1,200 PPFD each. For reference, the sun delivers >2,000 PPFD. The actual intensity can vary based upon your location.
There is no such thing as light burn. The only way a light can burn a plant is if it is placed so close the the plant that the heat from the light damages the plant.
Minimum PPFD recommendations are:
Seedling: 300 PFPD
Veg: 600 PPFD
Flower: 800 PPFD
A total of 600 watts will get you to, or close, to these levels.
I second everything Midwest was saying!
There is an app called photone that has helped at least me. There are many helpful videos that can guide you. I am currently trying out 1150 uMol on seedlings without C02 using the VS4000 in a 3x3
If the lights have a dimming function and your pockets are deep enough I would always recommend overkill. If you ever decide to introduce C02 you won’t need to change anything and dimming is said to extend the life of the LED.
3 would be great! You wont need to run at 100%. I used 2 of those in my 4 x4 for 8 plants. Im getting one more.
And 2 will do just fine. Each one has 2x4 flower coverage.
