Newbie here… can I use LED for the whole grow?

Hey all!!! Newbie here but excited to really jump in. Grew a couple autoflowers over the summer but now with winter approaching I have setup an indoor tent. I went with a Vivosun setup since it seemed to have a fair amount of control and a good price. If I can get the knack of this I’ll upgrade later down the road but just curious how I can best utilize what I got. Thanks in advance for any input and thoughts.
So my setup is as follows: 36”x36”x73” tent
2 aero light 150w LED lights
Ventilation system with carbon filter
Clip on fan
DIY drip irrigation system
Using fox farm soil and fertilizers

My big questions are… can I use LED for the entire grow cycle??? I know I should be using different lights for veg and flower but I’m on a budget so just curious how to best use them for the best yield.
Are 4 plants going to be too much for a 3’x3’ tent???
Any tips on utilizing what I got to achieve the best possible harvest.
And for those wondering I am starting with GSC Extreme and Durban Posion.

Thank you for all I’ve learned from your posts so far and for all I will continue to learn. Really excited for this journey to create the best possible buds I can!!! This community is amazing and I’m excited for any knowledge I can obtain. So go ahead and tell me how you’d do it best with the setup I got. I appreciate any and all comments!!!

You only have enough light for 2 plants. You need roughly 150 to 200 watts per plant

Ok that’s great to know!!! Thank you!!!

You can also look at the lights you need by having a minimum of 40 watts per square foot for optimal growth and flower in your available space.

You would need at least 360 watts.

The Aerolights will be just fine all the way. Cool lights. Good spectrum. 2 big or 4 small plants. in that tent. Those lights most likely can be placed fairly close if wanted. Follow manufacterer recommendations till YOU dial them in. Smaller tents like 2x4 and 3x3 can get by with 200-300 watts. Can grow as many plants as fit in lights footprint.

JEEZE I just saw those guys on a flash sale at 89.00 from 179.00 !!!

I researched the light for a few minutes. As far as I can tell the light model is built with Samsung LM301b diodes and also includes diodes that cover the full spectrum that make them suitable from seed to harvest. They are a bit underpowered (you really want a minimum of 200 watts per plant,) but you can still get decent results from them with a grow limited to 2 autos, but no more than 2. The b model is only 1 generation old, so they are good diodes.

You should be fine if you run them 18/6 from seed to harvest. Keeping the hours up will help raise your DLI (Daily Light Integral.) I wouldn’t use them to grow photoperiod plants, as the flowering light cycle is restricted to 12/12 for photos.

I grow 3 to 4 plants in a 2ft x 3ft x 54inch tent. With 2 blurple lights.
I just keep them small. I shoot for 20 inch plants. Depending on the grow I get between 4 to 12 ounces per grow. I try to have plants veged and ready to go when I harvest tent. I do the veg without a tent just a 100 watt led in a 55 gallon fish tank in 2 gallon fabric pots.[the root ball just barely fills them by harvest]Topped once or twice before going in. Topping depends on when I harvest. When I put them in the tent I bend them over sometimes super crop. So thea they are only 10 to 12 inches tall maybe top once more depends on plant structure. Leave 5 to 7 days and flip to flower. Even then sometimes they grow into the light.[short tents are a bitch]. Anyway that allows for 4 harvest a year.
So my vote with your light and tent is 3 to 4 plants. Kept short for maximum yearly harvest of premium bud.
I grow photoperiod only. That way I’m in control. Never know what an auto is going to do.
One other piece of advice put in 6 plants and cull the weak 2 or 3. Leaving you with 3 or 4 strong plants.
Hope this helps. I just felt like typing. Trust me this shxts easy if you just pay attention to a few little details like ph, ppm and if big fan leaves are covering bud sites. Also grow wall to wall. Yes some of my buds touch the sides of the tent.

That is super awesome info!!! Holy cow thank you!!! Gonna get them germinating here this weekend and will keep y’all updated with progress!!! This community rocks!!!

Are you doing photoperiod or auto.

Photoperiod. Earlier in the summer I got some autos but they were kinda weird so I’m gonna stick to photo now.

Awesome dude so much better than autos. imo
You will enjoy indoor grow for smoking also. No dirt on the buds. Fewer bugs to contend with. Another piece of advice. If you are outside change cloths before going to your tent those little buggers will cling onto anything. Also no clones from friends even your best friend without quarantine first. I put them in an area with no pest strips for a couple of weeks in veg. But mostly I say no. I also don’t let my best friend around my plants unless he wears one of those cheap paper paint suits from menards. Niether of us generally have bugs but shite happens. Better to be safe.
If you do get bugs of any kind no pest strips imo are safe as long as not in your living area.
Had spider mites once. Put 3 no pest strips in my 2x3x54 tent gone like right now. Leave the in till all life cycles possible have ended or from what I hear they can become immune to them.

I didn’t notice mention of a Ph and TDS meter??? You WILL need these for watering, feeding and when to feed and how much!

I will @ you to growing DrsDank you will see my new method of watering at the bottom plus my current grow. If you read the whole thing you will see I keep changing things up.
One thing always stays the same though. I feel these are weeds and I treat them as such. Weeds are hard to kill. Don’t freak over the little stuff it generally takes care of itself. If you need me I’m an @ way.
