Just got my 2nd HLG 260 v2 rspec and I added a HLG 30 UV supplmental bar as well. Im pretty happy with it now. I dont like how the UV bars power cord is aimed down and not up coming out of the housing. No idea why they would do that. Trying to bend the cord up makes the light sit weird. Im going to work on getting it to sit good and level tmrw. If I was to do it over again Id probably go with XL size lights.
I removed the red heat bulb and added two heat lamps with ceramic bulbs so I can keep them on during lights out.
Plants are looking a little better today after FIMs. I have two left to do. They are getting close to being ready for their first drink of RO water and nutes. Thanks to everyone who has been so helpful thus far!
Looks like a great set up! What size is your tent?
@Sorceress its a 4x4x7
Amen to that brother! A solid piece of equipment otherwise, but the cord arrangement just sucks balls!
the FGI’s are the same way and their Far Red bars but they give you a fair amount of cord to work with at least. And I do appreciate the heavy duty cord it is, but do I really need a cord that big for a 30w total lamp? It seems a little like overkill, but err on the side of caution I guess.
Good looking set up man!
I wonder if you could get a couple of heavy duty aluminum pieces and mount all the lights to it then just have the 4 ratchets to deal with instead of the multitude you’ve got now! LOL!
I’m getting ready to put a Scorpian Diablo together with 4 bars mounted to it so I just have “1” fixture to adjust. The weight is well below the limits of the support poles.
Maybe something to consider down the road, save a little work when you can ya know!
But you’re gonna grow some killer weed in there one way or the other!
Best of Luck to you!!
@Tylersays thanks a lot. I appreciate it.
Youre right about all the ratchet hangers! I will say it looks a lot worse than it is and I will definitely “clean” it up more. Im pretty picky about things being as tidy as can be.
You gave me a great idea for down the road! I might just get a couple pieces of unistrut and fasten everything together. That would be slick!
Very very sleek set up mate.
Envious. Love seeing these really nice systems. Mine is adequate and works great for my small needs.
Thanks a lot.
This design was made to accommodate surface mount to all of their existing fixtures. If cord came out top it would interfere with mount above.
You can frame your 260 kits by running a piece of aluminum angle across 2 sides. Then mount a crossbar down middle and fix the uv bar to it.
That makes sense for sure. It would be nice if they offered a plastic molded track or something the cord could snap into that would get it to sweep upward. Oh well, if thats the worste of my problems right now, im in good shape!
Ill definitely get something fabbed up to mount the lights to. Thanks for the ideas.
