Man i am great on soldering motherboards and replacing circuitry. Boy went all the way.
I’m decent, done my share of fixing things. One of my hobbies require alot of soldering. Even use to make and sell tat machine power supplies. But digital is over my pay scale
I’m not quite Tube old but close
Guess I’m Solid-state
Well that knocks that 1 out @Dennis62 . Was just looking them up.
I ran my my HLG 135 at about 10” from canopy when I ran a 2x4. It didn’t cause much of an issue. I did have to reduce light hours to 10/14 in late flower.
Why please?? What’s that do?? How did you come to needing that? Thanks
At that height they were way above DLI. So it was unused light. Plus heavy lighting late in flower can cause the plant to spit out foxtails.
Gotcha, thank ya sir
I put 2 135s in a 2x2x4 with a far red and a uv bar have both lights cranked full tilt right now about 5 to 6 weeks since flip 4.5 to 5 since flowers showed
Unfortunately not all of them work this way. These drivers have minimum input voltage and even if it was output is not linear. From there drivers capable of dimming have different ways of doing so. The meanwell drivers most common in larger horticulture lights will have what meanwell calls “3in1 dimming”. This is separate circuit that allows resistance dimming, 0-10v dimmimg, or pwm dimming. Each (of the 3) all go to same circuit the same way. The smaller dimming drivers typically have triac dimming, which would be more traditional to a house wiring type of dimmer. There’s just not a lot of applications for this small of a light in our purpose.
If you want to dim hlg-100 there are drivers available to do so. Just makes little sense to drop $50 to replace driver on $150 100 watt light. If you’re running hlg-100 is most likely because you wanted quality light for small space without spending ridiculous amount of money.
Hooked up the HLG 100 today in my 2 x 2 x 4 tent. No dimmer, but at 6" from the top of the tent and a hurricane fan blowing on low, no heat issues at all. seems very safe. Actually raised the overall temp inside by 2 degrees, which was also helpful. I’m very happy with this light!
Using my Bloom Plus and a strip light to finish of an AK 47.
Congratulations on your light man AK looks great.
Thanks for your help with my lighting questions. Only my second grow. Everyone has been so helpful in this forum. I look forward to a proper dry and cure, and ultimately a product I can proudly consume.
