Received my new hlg 350r today, and pretty excited about it. Replaced a cmh 315. I notice the first two notches on the dimmer don’t do anything. Like no power. Anyone have experience with that? Also, anyone see anything with this setup I should do different. Light height, etc. The plant is in the 6th week of 12/12.

If they shes in flower you want to crank the dimmer all the way up and let them eat it up… i have 3 hlg light not that 1. I have my light in flower at 15in on top of canopy. It all depends on dli really

The first two do not work thats correct. 15 inch for flower with that light. I just got two of them as well super stoked. Cant wait to try em out.

Mine first notch does nothing. Second notch lights it up. It will be awhile before I get to use mine. Still waiting for helmet heads to break soil. And then they will be under the HLG 100 V2 for at least 3 weeks before the 350R gets it’s turn with the plants.

Yep, I contacted them, and here is his response.
Yes, this is normal. The potentiometer uses a physical resistor. In the early stages it is too much resistance to limit the driver wattage.
Is that zip tie’s holding your 350r! Hope not god…the white zip ties are will break down in the light so you know. The black ones are uv rated also fyi…you gotta fix that! Lol

These are UV for marine use. I’m going to change them out when I find my other cables.

The cables that came with mine were all different lengths. Close to a 3/8" difference between the four. Couldn’t get the light as level as I wanted. And I normally change them out anyway.
Jack chain works great. If mine are uneven i will be going that route. Ive been a electrician for long time so i got all that stuff on hand.
