Hey all, Im setting up my light right now, and I cant find a definitive answer to how high to hang this and at what intensity? I have 18 4" pots that I will be sexing and right now they have just went into container from germination. So, how high should I be hanging my HLG 350R in my 4x4 pitched roof (to 5’) for seedling stage?

Id go for first click at 24", i have one as well but cant remember ppfd it was. Shoot for 300 to 350 ppfd for seedling

That light can be as close as 15" from canopy. I usually run mine about 24" 50% the first couple weeks depending on how the plants are responding.

This is the first time ive ever griwn indoors, i dont know what to expect… how will i know if they are getting appropriate light? I would think that there is a sweet spot, what would the range be so i can adjust with more precision within some sort of parameter?

You’re looking for smooth leaves without the serrated edges getting toothy. No taco shape to the leaves. No wilting. Keep pictures coming… We’ll help you read them.

Thanks! So you suggest tonight i hang the hlg 350R at 24" from the ground on the first click and set the seedling tray directly under and run lights for 18hrs…right? Lol.

Get the photone app, set it on full spectrum led. Raise light untill its at 350 ppfd, may need to start at sec click, pretty sure 1st click will hit around 350 at 20 ish inches. I have exact light but would feel better about u setting it to a actual ppfd

This is my HLG 600RSPEC. I have it raised quite a bit but i measured what the light is with the photone app. Plants are happy. I’m happy

Ppfd when they were seedlings was 100-300 now that they are in veg i have the ppfd up to 550 at 4 feet away and light at 75%

How will i know if they are responding the best way they can? I guess I’ll figure it out as i go… they are 4 days old, its at 24" and the second click. I counted 1 click, no light. 2 click first light setting. 3 click second setting. I did that one. I know i have a lot of plants, they are unsexed and i grew out a few til sexable and ALL were males! 5 of 5!!! So i started these before the light came, now I’ve got 15, well there be enough light to grow these to sexable plants with enough lighting to succeed? I’m not sorry i ask so many questions…lol, but i am sorry to those of you i might annoy with any seemingly obvious q’s. 
i just want to learn!!!
And lookie here, this one has 3 cotyledon and 3 first serrated!

I downloaded the app, I’m going to learn about it, but basically… i put the phone on top of the plant AND measured. This is what i got. As i move it all over and up and down it changes. I’m noticing the readings are all around here at the height and dialing. Is this good?
Then i cranked up the instensity…
So is this kinda the gist of the app? If so, this is awesome!!!

This app is cool… all these readings are at 24" and at 2/8 clicks… .i think that’s like 15w intensity? I’m going to call hlg and see what they have to say!
What size tent and how many plants? Are they all the same strain or in the same stage that you are growing with your 600? I’m already wishing i bought the 600… im in a 4x4, was going to use the space to flower out more plants than thought i could, i know it covers 3x3 up to 3x5 so now im thinking i should use this area for vegging and getting the 600 and putting in a 5x5 or something and using for flower tent!
I have a 4x8 and use a 350R, 550R, a SF4000 and 2x Hlg 30w UVA. Im having great results with that setup.
But i just bought 2 4x4x7 Gorilla Tents. The first im using for veg and only running HLG 550B. The second 4x4, for flowering will have a 650R, 30w UVA, and 15w 730 nm far red… its setup but not running yet. Waiting on the veg tent. Both of those main lights in the 4x4’s are probably overkill though…

You have yourself a triploid. I would clone that thing with a huge smile on my face.
They look great so far. I think you’re right where you need to be. After a couple weeks you’ll go up a click or 2.

I dont use a tent i just use a spare room. I have an image above its one light, 19 plants varying sizes. As they get bigger it will end up being 1 of 3 lights covering an 8x8 area and then another room as a “mothers” room for clones and the mom plants
