Got a question that’s been ask a million times but I can’t find the answer I’m looking for, I’m no rookie but I have always grown outside and start my seeds same way…but lmy his year I’m starting my seedling inside under a 600 watt Mars led and question is how much distance do I wanna be at? I’m at 30 inches now and plants are streching too much to suit me…any suggestions? Anyone?

@Sittingbull64 can you post a picture
If they are stretching too much lower your light to 24-28 inches and see how they react
I always start high and lower my fixtures until i find the sweet spot
I will start at 36 inches

I would say 22 to 25 inches. I keep mine at around30 for the first week then move it down as they gwt older and more size to them

I always shoot for 24 to 26 in and watch for stretch if they start stretching I lower my light by 4 inches. I would rather get her to stop stretching then be worried about being to close once she stops stretching I may go up a cpl inches depending on distance but my seedlings usually end up 20 to 24 but my light is a 300 roleadro 2nd gen.

I am also new to indoor growing. I have a full spectrum 300watt LED light panel.
Because it is half the wattage of the 600watt the original poster mentioned should
I put the light lower above the seedling or the same height as you guys mentioned
above for the 600watt?

I’m gonna go ahead and say this…I have always grown outside but like the inside too…I moved my light down as instructed but still had stretching so I have it at 20 inches right now and the girls love it! These most be a strong strain! But I would try 25 and go from there to find what they like

I would start it at 30" or as @Sittingbull64 said 25 wouldn’t be bad to try either and work your way down to find the sweet spot @OkieGirl.
