Help me understand

So I keep reading where the proper ppfd is between 800 and 1000 during flowering. My new hlg 350r does about 800 at 15” above at full power. I keep hearing this is a great light, so why does it only hit the minimum ppfd? DLI is about 32/34. Using the photone app set on full spectrum because that is what the photone folks told me I needed to use.

Have you adjusted the power output? @Underthestairs can definitely help you with the 350

Did you calibrate the app to your ppfd chart? We all use the sunlight setting as well. That setting makes the app comparable to the apogee meter.

He is killing it with those lights for sure.

Some reflective material is a dirt cheap way to boost the efficiency of your light and grow. Seen a guy using anniversary gift wrapping paper one time.

I did, if I did it right. I put in 815 from the chart. I also asked the photone folks about the full sun setting, because someone mentioned that before, and here is his response:

You’re welcome  Full sun is definitely wrong as this is the only setting for natural and not artificial light. Happy growing!

Using the app is going to TOTALLY depend on your phone models sensor. Some are just not accurate. 15" with that hlg should be frying them. I cant remember last time i checked mine. I just go by plant reaction myself.

All good advice, I would ask if you’re on the right hourly interval. I was running 12/12 for a week on my lighting and noticed my PHOTONE APP was set at 18/6 :love_you_gesture:

Yeah, I’m not sure how much I trust it. I’m going to check with my local grow shops and see if the have a real light meter for rent, and then I’ll document each setting so I know for sure. I went ahead and cut it back to the 7th notch which is 320w.

I have it on 12 hrs.
