New grower probably the same new grower problems

Hi everyone, new to this. I have read the threads for past few weeks and thought I had a good grasp on it from the amount of videos and threads I’ve read here.

My issue seems to be pretty common for new growers. I did the paper towel sprouting and planted once the seeds popped. I have a marshydro 2x4 tent kit with FC series light and all the bells and whistles. The seeds are ILGM autos and have been in the pots for 3 weeks and are only and inch tall. They have been domed with cups, not watered directly by where the plant enters the soil. Soil is organic top soil with no added nutrients.

What am I doing wrong, I pretty sure these plants need to be pulled due to the amount of time they have been planted and how much they have grown. I just can’t seem to get these plants into the veg state. Humidity has been 45-50 percent, temp stay around 80 to 85. I had the light way lower but it was drying out the soil very fast. The only thing I can think of is I had the light too bright (50 on the FC4000)for this stage of growth.

Any help would be greatly appreciate.

You have no precharged soil correct? Humidity is very low for seedlings. You need to get it up to about 80%

As soon as they pop the dirt I get rid of the dome lids. I would ditch the dome lids and give them some water. 30 cc’s in a circle around the stem but (about a 2 in circle around stem)

What type of nutrients are you using?

Thanks for the info.

I’m guessing I need to get a humidifier in the tent ?

No nutrients yet, I was thinking it needed a little more growth before nutrients.

Definitely get a humidifier. Ditch the domes I want some fresh air hit them. Give them a 30 cc drink of water.(1oz)

Will do, thanks for the tips!

Should I pull them due to how long they have been in there given they are autos?

First off welcome…

What kind/brand soil exactly?

I see this alot with babies that are germed in a large container. I am assuming you planted into the fabric pots in the pic. ??

I always start my bean in a small starter container like a solo cup in size. Keep the humidity and temp in line and within 2 weeks, I transplant to my first pot but most go straight to the pot she will be in until harvest.

Good question. The bark in it makes me think that it might be a Miracle Grow / Vigoro product. These soils could definitely cause stunting.

Overwatering is the most common cause for stunted seedlings. The soil should not be watered at all if using a dome.

No its definitely pure top soil with no added nutrients, I specifically sought that out after reading advice from the experts here.
