The leaves on this plant have been curled inward and I just recently started getting brown spots on the edges of leaves. It’s counterpart, growing in the same tent with same nutrients isn’t having any problems.
Tent temp is 73F, humidity 54%
I was feeding half strength MaxiGro during veg and switched to Maxibloom at 75% strength. Growing in soil with a Ph of 6.5. I top water just to dampen soil every 3-4 days and most of the feeding is done from the bottom and she drinks about 1/2 a gallon a day that way. I just began adding calimagic from General Hydroponics thinking this was a calcium deficiency.
I will water to run off when I leave work and test the run off. If I find that the run off has a ph outside of the good range do I flush and scale back feed intensity ? Or do I just feed plain water for a bit?
Will leaves return to green or is the brown permanent?
Dude, I love growing this is only my second grow but Im thoroughly engaged.
Once they are brown, they stay brown. But new growth will be healthy if you correct the issue. Best to try to ID first and attack the problem that way.
In flower the way you are, I’d be looking for PPM in 1000 - 1200 range.
Once you see where you are, come back and post your numbers. Others will be able to give more informed advice that way.
Alright, I get home late so I don’t want anyone to think I just ignored the advice. Numbers will be posted tom am. I will include the ppm from the water dish it bottom feeds from and the run off.
Top and bottom feeding wouldn’t be my recommendation Grow Bro, soil needs a drench to drought routine, and drench to liberal run off. Synthetic fertilizers are salt based and these can accumulate in the root zone driving up the PPMs and tanking the PH. I suspect your PH is low and your PPMs are high and you’re looking at a several nutrient deficiencies. Personally I would water only at 6.5 to 30% run off and catch and test the PH and PPMs
It’s great you said that. I hadn’t even thought about the accumulation of salts in the root zone from bottom feeding. So that is just another piece of info I’ll now keep in mind going forward. Possibly just using fertilizer from top and regular water from the bottom between feedings. The salts would likely be diluted enough by the 1 gallon of water to not have bad ppm or pH ranges.
As much as I hate seeing 1 get sickly, when things go bad is where I’m learning the most. Grow 1 I had 3 sickly plants that barely made it through because I failed to know what I was seeing. This time I’ve got 1 sick 1 that is salvageable.

I appreciate the input from you guys.
Ill try using those auto watering pans solely to catch run off next go round and see how grow 3 goes.
It’s always good to see similar advice coming out of someone who knows what he’s doing. I made pretty much all the mistakes over the first three grows.
Fingers crossed, I’ve finally got my act together.
I’m running Autopots, my second grow with them. They solve the “salts at the bottom” thing, any salts move up the pot away from (most) of the roots. I had no deficiencies last grow, and so far things are going well this time.
Plus my lazy behind only makes nutes up once a week now.
I was looking at this earlier when I realized how difficult it is going to be tonight to untie all the branches from the LST frame I built in order to check the water. Glad to hear they worked out for you.
