Thanks. I may have to start watering from the top. I had been bottom watering. Someone on a different forum told me to keep water in the bottom containers all the time. I’m still learning and filtering through bad advice
Yeah, this seems like a much happier place than where I started for advice! The only problem so far is I’m limited in how many times they let me reply. Took a bit for them to even let me ask a question. Still learning the flow of the forum as well. I had been bottom watering and on advice, left them pretty much sitting in water. I have corrected that and hoping for no major damage
@Ghostgirl , What type of Soil/coco/medium are you using? Any nutrients yet?
FoxFarm Ocean Forest soil was the rec I received. I was using the Fox Farm Trio. Can’t recall the name but I’ve used only 2 of them. Still learning that aspect as well. The place I bought my equipment, VivoSun, had some I think I’ll try as they were pretty clear which ones to use through the grow process.
Nothing wrong with the Fox Farm trio if you already have them. Just remember to do the flush they recommend every 4 weeks.
Do you have a ph meter and a ec/ppm/tds meter.
I did read that. I’m hoping these dry out enough that I feel comfortable doing that. If you’re familiar with the product, when do I introduce the Big Blooms?
I go 3 to 4 days between waterings to let soil dryout before I water again.
Looks like Big Bloom is right from the start, Keep in mind your soil had enough nutrients preloaded in it for 4-6 weeks. You’ll need to get a PH/TDS pen to measure you runoff to know for sure when, and how much to add.
Oh wow! Super helpful. I definitely have some things to learn. Glad I found this forum. Wish me luck!
@plumbdand I was watering twice a day on advice. Mine are still drying out. No issues with the roots I saw. No discolored leaves, still a bit droopy. Hoping I saved them in time. Thanks again
you probably only need to water/feed them to runoff every three days or so. But you really need to check the runoff with a PH/TDS pen. Then you will know what your plants need and when they need it.
I had 4 or 5 grows with the ff trio.
I would feed full strength and do water only between feedings.
Feed, water, feed, water
I water til runoff everytime. More so on water only days.
I dont do the flushes and I have had no issues. A few of us on here determined water til good runoff allows us to skip the flushes. It works for a few of us.
I can help with trio questions if you come across any.
Are you water from the bottom with self watering bases
Wellllll, funny you asked. No, I was using those water run off things you put under planters. I had on order the self water containers. Just got them today now I’m questioning if I should return them
Some people on here have used them successfully. Im using some for the first time right now. I usually grow outdoors in the ground, but I start my plants indoors in pots under lights mid April and transplant them outside in June. Ive got 4 seelings going in a tent right now, that I plan on keeping inside for the duration. When you use the self watering bases let the plants use all or most of the water/nutrients before adding more water/nutrients. You want to top water at first until the roots reach through to the bottom of the pot
Done properly, Hang, bag sweat or Rehang if not below 68%
Snap lid jars, burp big, medium or small (open lid, unsnapped, or held unsnapped.
tools of the trade, for harvest.
Half gallon jars with wide mouth preferred.
Quart red sauce (spaghetti) jars work well too.
Jar properly and every 12 ours is enough.
Paper bag utilized for slowing changes.
Allows inside bud/stem to “off” or reduce the moisture.
I hang small pieces for control.
Best cure to you

This is a photoperiod reveg she is in a 2x2 tent, in a 5 gallon fabric pot in MotherEarth Groundswell soil.
Tent is steady at 75-80f 50-58%rh.
I water her about every 2-3 days with Lotus pro series nutrients…
As far as replies, I would everything and try to read as much as I could while building trust lvl. It doesn’t take very long to get more likes and replies.
Ntm the knowledge, advice, help, and people who share your goals an become friends, I’ve made quite a few friends on here. I was going to tag them but they are already here
Got my dirt today, letting it warm some since Ohio is a meat freezer right now😂 I’m going to get the other 2 repotted and check moisture levels. I have the meter for moisture and pH for my other houseplants I think will work. With the help I’ve received here, I have put the cart before the horse. Regrouping and concentrating on this stage and will revisit the drying\curing.
@DanB I have tons of gadgets, the hubs is an engineer and kinda pulled the trigger on everything that’s gadget like. He’s trying to convince me we need another tent for drying I don’t think I need that quite yet as I’m learning my mistakes now.
@dbrn32 thank you! Everyone has been very kind and helpful here. Biggest thing I’ve learned is to take ONE step at a time and learn each process as it comes. Someone caught my overwatering problem and probably saved my plants. Happy to be here and learn.
