This is my new grow. First time doing ethos seeds so hooefukky the hype is right. They are 17 days above ground. What ppfd would you be running at right now.
I’d say anywhere from 385-450
Been growing for over 15 years and have never checked run-off once. Just saying.
What are you planning on as far as lighting?
Your gonna have a full house!
For lighting i plan on vegging with my 2 nextlight 420h lights. Just cause ive had good success with them and like how short they keep the plants. Late veg ill probably have to bring in 2 growlight science 1800. For flower im going to use those and 2 scorpion rspecs. Hooefully i can keep the plants small enough that i can flower all of them. I also have 2 mars hydro ts2000s i can use. I would love some input though. This is my 4th grow. Last grow with all those lights, excluding the 1800s i struggle keeping below 80 degrees but i should be ok when i put in the bigger ac. Ill post some pics of the room later when i have a chance. I actually only have enough floor space for 24 to 26 of them. But thats what survived the germination of 40 seeds so i may have to nuke some of them eventually
Looks like you’ve got some quality lighting. As a general rule, plants require ~40 watts per sq ft of canopy. Another way to look at it is ~200 watts per plant.
There’s not much risk until you get up past 85F.
At up past 85° what can one do to optimize this? Should humidity be increased or decreased? I am in 3rd week of flower and towards mid day i am reaching 87-90° in my tent. I open the front door about a foot or 2 but is there a level of humidity i need to reach to protect the plants? Im trying to keep humidity low for flowering but then the VPD gets out of whack…
Chasing VPD can be frustrating and isn’t worth the effort imho. I shoot for >50% in veg and <50% in flower and leave it at that.
Airflow is the solution for high temps.
Okay, i do agree about chasing vpd being a headache. I was just wondering about the importance of humidity acting as a buffer at higher temps.
I say forget about the RH/temp relationship. Make sure that your temp is <85, RH is appropriate for the growth stage, and then go have some ice cream.
Sounds like a plan to me… i was on the fence about this. I guess fresh cooler circulating at high temps is more important than high humidity.
Ice cream sounds good. Thanks
With my situation i have 2 8 inch fans pulling through filters. Plently of airflow for the space. My ac was undersized so im fixing that. But where i struggle is if im running the ac and the fans at the same time i fell thats just pulling out the cool air im putting in. But i have to run the filters cause of neighbors. It just dawned on me though, should i run the fans and filters inside the room? Not exhaust them? What do you think, is there need to constantly exhaust the room?
For 2 reasons:
CO2 replenishment and/or to manage temp or humidity.
In general, more airflow is always better.
Thats what i thought from my research, it just seams countrr intuitive exhausting my cool air. Last run though my high temp was around 83 and i had just a small ac. So having the proper sized ac i should be ok even with the 2 new lights.
If I’m having high temps in my room I usually opt for a block of dry ice in front of my intake fan. This provides cooler temps going into the tent as well as high volume of CO2 for plants to use up.
