I have a 2x6x8 closet that I made my growroom. my humidity stays good but I just switched from veg to flower and the odor was building. I got a melonfarm 6inch carbon filter and it came with a fan and ductwork. but then someone told me that if I put it up it would make my humidity go out the roof. please any advice
hook that muther up and get rid of the smell.!!
a filter will NOT make the RH go up.
high RH will reduce the effectiveness of the carbon tho.
if the melon filter does not work like u need it to try a Can-Filter.!

thanks for the help. quick question if I can it is a dumb one. do I put the perforated end of the fan onto the carbon filter? I cannot seem to figure out what to do with what I got. no instruction at all

i always put at least 12" of flex duct between fan and filter, i don’t like the idea of the fan vibrating the carbon and possibly packing it down or causing loose spots, but i m OCD and ADHD.!!
no. the fan has a smooth end and a perforated end. I need to put one end into the filter and one end on the ductwork . I just don’t know which way the air should be going. I am 64 and a women so I am trying
plug the fan in to see which direction it blows,
u want the fan pulling air from the filter.!
the perforated end is probably the outlet, so the smooth end will connect to the filter…???
ok thanks I was going to cut a hole in my attic and run the ductwork up there but this seems easier
If you duct you air to the attic your humidity might go down some but can be regulated with a humidifier .
do you think that would be better to run it into the attic?

did u switch the light cycle to 12/12.?
yes I turned on the flowering switch and I left the veg switch on also is that right?

i think autos r supposed to stay on 18/6 light schedule…???
I really don’t know. I have heard so many things I just went for it and went from veg to flower. it was 5weeks into the grow and they were 11 inches tall so I did it

I have run several autos and you’ll be fine switching the light schedule. I have done both no real noticeable differences besides saving a lil electricity.

2x2x4 tent grower here, I have a carbon filter on my tent and running 32% RH. Wont make it go up.
The filter will not make humidity rise unless you live in a humid area and it’s pulling in moist air threw passive vents or intake fan
