New AUTO GROWER! HELP PLEASE!

Ok so Im just going to start type lol… So my babies are at day 17. They are LSD Autos. This is my 2nd grow. My first went horrible. However that’s another story. I had to use a medium of what i had left, so i mixed FFHF with some perlite and coco coir, to have enough soil for three 3 gallon fabric pots. They germinated well, one very quickly and the other 2 took about 5 days. My ph in the soil is around 6.5. I mist with a spray bottle with RO water ph adjusted. On day 14 I did water :droplet: with RO water and a 1/2, then i halfed that, so it ended of being like 3 drops-ish of Grow Big FF ph adjusted. They have been stretched and i dont understand , i thought i had the light close enough, i have a Abriselux A1500 LED Grow Light Dimmable with 4x4ft Coverage and Upgraded Larger Board, Full Spectrum Grow Lamps for Indoor Hydroponic Growing Light with High PPFD (Actual Power 150Watt)
A1500 Dimmable (copy/paste) . I rotate them every day and i keep them on a 18/6 light sechdule. Should it be 24? I have a humidifier, which I’ve read so many different things, at this stage I have the humidity around 68ish at night. We have crazy weather in the southern states. So controlling tent temps are difficult for me. Humidity during the day is up in the 70s. When do i need to decrease Humidity?. My other issue is my medium has settled :relieved: and i wasn’t planning on transplanting. Can i add soil or something on top to fill the pot? Also I use oscillating fans, and i have a VIVOSUN 6 Inch 390 CFM Inline Fan with Speed Controller, 6 Inch Carbon Filter and 8 Feet of Ducting, Temperature Humidity Monitor for Grow Tent Ventilation (copy/paste) I grow in a Nova Microdermabrasion 48’’ x 48’‘x 80’’ Grow Tent , 4’x4’ Indoor High Reflective Mylar Hydroponic Growing Tent Room with Observation Window and Floor Tray for Plant Fruit Flower Veg (c&p) Thankyou any info would be greatly appreciated…

Hi there. Put a clear solo cup over top od each and just spray inside of each cup. When leaves hit sides of cup take off. Your humidity is good. Only a bit of wTer needed around the outside of cup. I would get more ffof to fill in.
If u see them starting to get too leggy, lower light. Do u have ph, tds, light meter?

Was the coco you used buffered? And what’s the approximate ratio of FFHF to Coco in the mix. Reason I ask is you might want to go in at a slightly lower pH then you would in straight soil, and depending on how much coco you have in there you might need to add calmag to your feedings as well. It’s not something to worry about right now in the new seedling stage, but it will be important very soon.

Not really a good idea to mix soil and coco. They each have differing pH and watering requirements.

Optimal pH for coco is 5.8, while it is 6.5 for soil. Soil should be left to dry out between waterings for good root health. Coco becomes hydrophobic if it dries out.

That’s the issue I’m trying to head off for @Baller-MoM.151. I actually grow in Mother Earth Coco Peat which is a mix of soil and coco, but it’s mixed in the factory to a proper ratio and the coco is pre buffered. It’s marketed for cannabis. I use calmag with every feeding, and my local grow store owner suggests a pH input right in the middle of the hydro/soil line.
One of the things I like the most about it is I can always give them a feeding even if they’re not quite dry enough. In regular soil I’d have to water/feed just the ones who were ready, and wait on the others until the following day. Knowing there’s a decent amount of coco in there allows me feed even the ones that are still fairly damp without worries about lack of oxygen in the root zone. If you treat it properly, you can get a bit of the benefits of coco in soil.

I really messed up huh… thank you… i just used what i had at the time… i appreciate your knowledge.

No you didn’t mess up. pH at 6.0-6.5 and reap a healthy harvest

Ok … I guess I should have researched more. Do you think i should just start over with a new medium.

Not sure about that. If you aren’t having problems, then keep doing what you are doing. It’s not optimal, but you might be able to get away with it.

Have you learned how to tag someone yet if you need more assistance. I hsve them on speed type. Lol

Hope all is well, we want pictures of your beautiful harvest to come.

@Baller-MoM.151. Most welcome

No. There’s nothing wrong with your medium. Thousands are running a similar blend including me.

Welcome to the community. Looks like your in good hands plants look good. It’s nothing unusual for seedlings to get leggy at first it’s ok to add more medium. I bury my stems rite up to the leaves.

No reason to start over at all, just pay close attention as they grow and if any issues come up there’s plenty of help here to deal with it.
For your future grows, if you’re going to continue growing autos I’d suggest reading through some threads here about transplanting them. I know it’s commonly stated that autos shouldn’t be transplanted, but that’s not the case if you do it properly. They get off to incredible start in a small container, and with autos there’s no replacing any time lost to slow starts. Don’t get me wrong, you can still grow great autos starting in their final pots, but my results are far better since I started transplanting them.
