These ladies are at end of second week of flowering, I’ve been slowly defoliating a little each day, I’ve been lollipoping and they’ve been topped. How much thinning out is acceptable? The tallest is 63 inches, 7ft 11 inch vertical space. Getting a little tight, that’s a 3X3 tent, 4 photoperiods. Greatly reduced N and pushing PK, with carbs, terpene enhancers, flower stackers, looks promising but believe have too
Nitrogen is very important at this stage. You will want to continue feeding nitrogen. The first few weeks of flowering is the most rapid growth a plant will experience and it is nitrogen that powers that growth.
I currently have five plants in a 4 X 8 and it’s pretty crowded so I feel you.
I’m running Jack’s in coco and there’s a modified ‘mix’ program that delivers a jolt of P and K right at transition. That mix is run for 21 days (or so) and the original program resumes. Once I see buttons, that’s day one flower. At plus 21 days in flower I will go in and remove the bulk of the original fan leaves to increase airflow. I will repeat this at plus 42 days and other than that just the dead heads.
I too believe N is vitally important and I try to keep a green canopy all the way to harvest. Not always possible (as my current grow shows) but something I try for.
No mention of lighting: what and how much wattage are you running in your space? A little more detail may be helpful. Soil, nutes etc.
Very cool that was interesting info. I run a 450 watt LED, 7’11” gorilla tent. It gets pretty crazy, 4 photos , can make vertical growth an adventure. At beginning veg stage I try to get maximum photosynthesis per sq inch, to help power plant. Now I’ve de defoliating a descent amount almost daily, handfuls, lots to go around haha. I veg 8-9 weeks, then if like looks of it , I’ll kick 12-12. Then hold on . I’m running air pots 5.5 gallon each. Fox farm. Shoot up to 800-1300 ppm in middle flowering, some N , but heavy PK, terpene enhancers, flower stackers, etc. but always stay in ppm range and of course PH. This one will be interesting. I guess strain of year and a cross with such. Again thanks for info!!!
