Should I get air to defoliate?

I’ve got some sativa dominant hybrids here, would you guys do any defoliation at this point or wait until they’re finished stretching? I last defoliated below the bottom net a few days before I flipped them. Idk they’re just looking pretty bushy, last time I think I took too much off but I’m not sure how much to leave on now.

Your plant looks fabulous. Yes, you can trim a bit now event though you will trim again later. Growth will come fast and furious, particularly during the first few weeks of flowering. Trim as necessary to maintain good airflow within the plant’s canopy.

I noticed your growing hydro, what tds do you run and ph or do you run with ec readings?

Thanks man! I’ve been taking off leaves that I feel are covering bud sites or restricting airflow but I’ve been leaving everything. Obviously the less leaves the more airflow but I’m trying to strike a good balance

Not necessary. Buds don’t really use light. Flower calyxes are far less efficient at photosynthesis as compared to leaves.

I use TDS. Honestly it’s different every grow for me. Depends on what strains I’m growing and how many plants I’ve got. This is going to sound insane but at this point in the grow my TDS is at 1100. I find that if the water level is decreasing while my PPM stays the same, that’s what keeps my plants the happiest. But again, it’s different with every run. Last grow I never broke 900 with my grandaddy purps, this time I’ve got 3 sativas and I’m already at 1100 week 2 of flower.

I should rephrase - I remove leaves that are covering smaller colas so that they get the light they need to catch up to the bigger colas. I’m only on day 6 of flower so no buds, still stretching.

Also 5.8ph for veg, 6.0 during flower

Again. Flower does not need light nor does it use light in any significant way. It won’t help them catch up. The leaves will generate the sugars the plant needs. The sugars make it to where is is needed via the stem system.
