i highly stress Don’t skimp on your lights. you will be happy with a better light. i got 8 different lights before i come across spider farmer lights and am very happy with them. im sure @dbrn32 can guide you in the right direction !
I was looking at the Spider farmer SF2000 would I be ok with only 1? All the tests I have seen are for 4x2 tents mine is a 4x4. I’m in Australia so any USD products kind of break the bank.
@Purosuco i run 2 sf2000 in my tent (4x4) … it depends on how may plants you will be growing in the tent. i originally had a sf 1000 and a sf 2000 in the tent. it can get a bit warm but just run you a couple of fans and you should be fine… here is a pic of my set up… my girls had a ruff go in the start with lack of feeding nutrients but pulled out of the rut. they are about a week or so from harvest now!
Welcome! Great to find another Aussie!
Just finishing my 2nd grow - same tent and first grow was under a Viparspectra 900W - not a bad light, but not a great light. I changed up to a 600W HPS in a Col-Tube for the bulk of the grow - the Vipar was only used at seedling and early veg - it is excellent for that!
A very good LED here will cost upwards of $800.00 - to $1200,00 for excellent lighting.
I already had an open bat-wing HPS so I just bought the Cool-Tube from Hydro Experts (they don’t like links to shops here). I got the 6 inch duct version. They are very good with stock and pricing.
I ran Autos this time. LED first 2 weeks then HPS until the end. The increase in quality of bud is spectacular.
To get to recommended par levels with decent led lights isn’t exactly budget friendly. You would want at least 2 sf2000 is that’s the way you decide to go.
@Nicky seems to like Kingbright lights from a company in China. He’s in Canada & gets them off of Alibaba. I’ve never seen one but since I tagged him he’ll be along shortly to advise you on them & their worth.
I would grow 4 plants at maximum in a 4x4.
You can get away with two 240w boards but I would personally get the Bar light setup for a 4x4. They have it listed in their products.
If I was going with boards and not bars I would go with two 320w. Again the ideal would to just get their 4x4 bar setup.
Tell them I sent you, I think they are just ending Chinese new year so they are just getting back to work.
Just looked up their location: Australia. They have a comprehensive line of LED components for the home builder/grower: might be a decent way to set up a light for your space. Especially if you have access to sheet aluminum.
