My new tent is 3’x3’x5’. I want to get new lighting. I don’t know what to buy? Can anyone help? Thinking led panel…
@dbrn32 any suggestions for a fellow cultivator… this is right up your alley…
Help is on the way @Kyliegirl146
If you want leds i recommend qb 260 xw kit from horticulture lighting group. You can order from growerslights assembled for small fe if that’s an issue.
one of these would work great in a 3x3…

this is about the same cost as a good 600w HID set up if u factor in 5 years of HPS bulbs.!
Another nice thing about QB’s is they are pretty flat and don’t require as much room to operate as the Amazon blurple lights. The OP has a 60" high tent which can be crowded in flower.
I can’t afford four hundred dollar lights…I just wanted to get a flat led lights. But what I have works but it’s alot of wires…
I’m not sure what you have now. Chances are a cheap light won’t be much of an upgrade.
I thought maybe two of those lights
They’re not as good as as the light I recommended.
Those lights look to good to be true. Because it is. The marketing on those units is very misleading.
Guess I’ll stick with what I got
What do you have now, you mentioned a lot of wires?
2 or 3 of those would fill a 3x3 veg tent,
to fill a 3x3 for flower u would need 4 of them,
4 x $66 = $265, that is $265 for sub-par Blurple light,
a few dollars more and u can have top of the line LED Quantum Boards.!!
there r some decent Blurples out there, like Mars Hydro, Kind…
but there is no Blurple as good as HID, CMH, COB, and QB.!!
Light is the food for your plants, the better the light the better the performance.!
Keep in mind… While LED lighting is great for growing, you don’t need LED lighting to have a great grow.
If cost is your main concern, for half that price you can get a 400 watt (44 watts per square foot for your space) air-cooled HID lighting system.
@Sixpackdad I use cfls. Then led bulbs.I had a good grow last time. Just wanted something that I could use only one unit instead of four separate units.
How many watt quantum board? For a 3x3 area?
@dbrn32 suggested to me to get a qb 260xw kit for a 3x3 tent. Which I will do. You can either have it shipped assembled for an additional 25$ or save the 25$ and assemble the kit yourself. Order it from growerslights. Good luck and happy growing.
Some of the value of going to QB boards it the DIY factor, I just bought a 304 piece HlG QB with heat sink with a 150w meanwell driver. The total with shipping was $130. I already have a cord, the wire, and connectors for the DIY part, but those ar all readily available online or at nearby stores. I will be using this board for a 2x2 space for the veg phase of the plant.
I also have a similar blurple light to what is shown. Mine is a 1500w double chip. It has an actual wall draw of 280w, part of which is for the three fans that cool it. The QB boards don’t need fans if driven properly. However, the blurple light covers my 2x2 space nicely a and I can’t complain about it.
What’s your budget?
QB is 35 - 45 watts per square foot,
a 3x3 needs between 300 and 400 watts to run great in flower.!!
some get by with 30 watts per foot, but they do not brag about stellar bud either.!
the investment sucks, but once u get great lighting u will greatly appreciate the investment.!!!
this is some bag seed under ~240w of QB in a 5.5 sq ft box (44 wpsf)…
