Need help with my plants

Not to step on toes, but I believe the newer growth will look healthier. If that makes sense

Hawkeye_dise
I welcome everyone’s input.
That does make sense though.
I was thinking the growth that was slightly discolored might come back into so to speak. Some of the old growth was just slightly discounted almost like a nitrogen dificiency so I was hoping that the color would come back into that growth as well.

This is only my 2nd grow and in my 1st grow I didn’t have any issues like this so I don’t really know what to expect.

Thank you for your input I will definitely check out the new growth as well as the old to monitor the situation. Hoping that adjusting the PH will take care of my issues. Trying to avoid having to flush the plants as I don’t like wasting water for one and also to PH balance the amount of water I would need to flush all my plants will take me forever.

Leaves that have damage won’t recover from it, they will.always have the scares of the issue, if that makes sense. When I have an issue and once I get it under control I always monitor new growth to see how the plant and issue is progressing

Wow I just read back through my previous post and spell check did no justice.

I try and keep an eye on everything on my plants. Under the leafs, soil, stems, new growth, old growth so I should see some improvements hopefully. I’ll especially keep an eye on new growth though for sure. Hopefully it is green and hardy.

A couple of them are getting big to the point I need to switch over to flower soon so hoping my issue is resolved so I can change the light cycle soon.

New growth tell the story, hit also keep track of the damages growth as it will stop once the issue is corrected.

Hi guys, Bob31 recommends these Pots in the thread. I’ve been thinking of getting some for my next (and hopefully more productive grow. I’d just like to ask about the size, Bob’s suggesting 3 Gallons but I’ve heard I should be using 5 Gallon ones. which would you say would be best for a small 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 5 foot Grow tent? The 5 gallon look huge and I’d like a little room to swing the dead cat I’ve just bought.
Thanks in advance for any pointers.

I use the 5 gallon smart pot for my photos and 3 gallon ones for my autos

2 bigger cloth pots are 5 gallon the smaller is a 3 gallon and the other 2 are 5 gallon dwc buckets. All inside a 48x48x80 tent

Thanks @Hawkeye_diesel That pic’s a great help to guage the size, with my smaller tent I’ll get the 5 Gal Pot in with no problems. I will only be growing 1 at a time so that’s my next buy on Amazon. Here’s the link for UK growers.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01EOVD674/ref=twister_B01EOVD430?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Obviously as Cannabis cultivation is illegal in the UK I will only be growing Tomatoes in mine.

Once I’ve determined if the balanced PH water is helping or not I may remove some of the lower leafs that were damaged. I generally leave all of the leafs on my plants unless they are more than %50 dead.
I try and tuck the big fan leafs under the chutes so that the chutes see more light.
Some of the damaged leafs are really skinny where the Finger meets the stem.
Got my fingers crossed I won’t have to flush them all.

On another note not sure if you have knowledge of this but the nutrients I am using is called ā€œVerm vegā€ made by vermicrop. They are dry organic nutrients that are applied to the medium. I apply them by loosening up the top soil and messaging in the dry nutrients. Then I water with a microbe solution (sunshine plus I believe it’s called) I add 1 cap full per gallon of water.
I did not add anything this time around since I was just trying to give them some balanced water.
My question is using the PH down solution from general hydroponics being that it is an acid will it kill the microbes I’ve been putting into my medium?

Should I maybe purchase some other type of nutrients like fox farm or something or the type
That you mix with water?

I had good luck last year with the vermicrop line but I didn’t have to balance my PH last year so I didn’t add any PH down into my medium so just trying to be prepared for my next nutrient regiment and will order them up to have them in hand if need be.

Thanks again.

I don’t have any experience with thay line. I use fox farms, the hydro formula. So I’m not entirely sure about it. I can call in some of the more experienced and see what they think.
@Majiktoker, @garrigan62
What do you guys think?

Sounds good.

If I were to purchase the fox farm line would I need to purchase the soil formula or the hydro formula?

I’m growing in sunshine advanced mix #4 which I’m told is a soiless medium.

I believe the soil formula would be fine, like I said I have the hydro formula and I use it with my soil plants, but I am not sure about it. Maybe @Paranorman, @Majiktoker, @Hogmaster, or @bob31 could help enlighten the question.

I use the Foxfarm soil and don’t start using nutrients for the first several months almost until it has filled out a 3 gallon bucket and then I start to feeD there is a recipe that one of the mentors has given people and he doesn’t have to start using nutrients until flower it’s a great mix I can give you the recipe if interested it’s quite a chunk of dirt

Yes its a soilless medium fox farm nutrients are a great line though you can find better nutrients over time

Would I want to purchase the fox farm for hydro or for soil? (I know you said it is a soiless mix just want to be sure if I get it that I get the correct nutes)

Also I don’t know if you read the posts above.
I recently balanced the PH in my water in my last watering using PH down solution from general hydroponics. The fertilizer I am currently using is a dry fertilizer that is added to the medium then I water with a microbe solution. My question being will the acid in the PH down mess with the microbe solution I had been previously watering my plants with?

I found it my tap water which I use to water has a high PH of around 7.8 so whenever I water I will need to lower the PH in my water to get it balanced. I didn’t want to fight a loosing battle using the microbe solution and the dry fertilizer of all the microbes get killed off from the acid. Which is why I had inquired about the fox farm nutrient line.

I just want to be prepared for the next nutrient dose when the time comes.

Thanks in advance.

Get the ones for soil

Also this depends if its a time release or slow release it may in the future but I can’t say yes entirely as this does work for other growers

Ok.
I’ll do some research and see if I can’t find out if they are slow release or time release and go from there. I don’t remember seeing anything on the package about time realease or slow release but that doesn’t mean anything. I’ve actually contacted the company before so I may just shoot them an email and ask them the question.

Thank you for your help and recommendation ls it is greatly appreciated!
