So I’ve been looking for an answer to why I have light brown spots on the leaves of my plant. I haven’t seen an exact match to whats going on but the closest seems to be a Potassium deficiency.
I stopped Fox Farm Grow Big a couple weeks ago now and doubled up on Tiger Bloom with Beastie Bloomz and Cha-Ching (not all together but as scheduled)
Should I add Grow big back into the schedule IF that diagnosis is correct?
Or go with another option in any case?
Pk boosters can cause problems with nutrient imbalances, are you testing runoff ph and ppm?
What soil are you in and how much trio are you feeding?
Don’t stop Grow Big. A plants most rapid growth will occur during the stretch until the 4th or 5th week of flowering. It is nitrogen that powers that growth.
I would avoid bloom boosters. Bloom boosters are unnecessary and I’d go as far as to call them “snake oil.” All bloom boosters are is a stronger solution of P and K that is already in the product you already use. If you want the effect of “bloom boosters,” just feed more of your nute line’s PK product. Fox Farms bloom boosters are exceptionally salty. You will be introducing less salts into your grow medium doing this and will still achieve the effect you are looking for. Adding bloom boosters may result in a mineral salt buildup that eventually submarines root zone pH and pH becomes very difficult to manage. Bloom boosters, as @Autos-only says, will invalidate your PPM numbers as the nutrient balance will be too PK heavy.
I’ve only fox Farm products. So the soil is Ocean Forest. As for nutes, bi-weekly I have Big Bloom at 1Tbsp and Tiger Bloom at 2Tsp. But with everything that I add in, my PPM right now is ~1500 but I never tested the pH of the runoff; only the soil, which is ~6.8
I wanna say I stopped Grow Big two week ago? And that time I was only giving 1Tsp bi weekly. But I guess it doesn’t hurt to start again at that dosage. As for salt buildup, I do know about that especially with the concentrated boosters. I did follow through with Sledgehammer and have applied it once. And in any case, it would another week till I need to do it again
