Wasn’t able to figure out for sure. Had a mess up where I fed with nutes and didn’t add pH up making the pH shoot way down, and now I’m seeing the consequences. Any advice for a diagnosis and a fix? Any help is appreciated greatly, thank yall so much
Light x2 SF1000, 100%
Soil- Fox Farm Ocean Forest, 7 gal pot
Plant started flower early, switched lights on Jun 4th and pistils started to form about 2 weeks later.
Need to test some runoff tomorrow and update y’all on the pH and PPM
One instance of this isn’t likely to cause significant problems. We’ll wait for the runoff numbers, as they will probably tell the story. A low runoff pH is common at this stage of growth.
Id start phing your water around 7 with nutes in.
@MidwestGuy @ChittyChittyBangin due for a water today, I’ll let you know once I do it and get the numbers. I’m not sure how many waterings I’ve had since I added the messed up water but it’s definitely been 3-4 since. Haven’t had any problems since before then, so that’s why I’m thinking that there might been a buildup of salt in the soil that made the low pH stick. Definitely due for a good flush.
pH in a Fox Farm soil, which is buffered for cannabis, will revert to ~6.5 with a good flush down to ~300 PPM. Use a product like Sledgehammer or Florakleen to accelerate the flushing process. Feed lightly immediately after the flush, wait for the soil to dry out, then resume full strength feedings maintaining wet/dry cycles going forward.
Sounds like a solid plan, so that’s exactly what I’ll do. I can definitely see salt buildup around the fabric pot. I’ll do this and I’ll let you know the results, thanks for the help
Update: I harvested my other plant and repositioned my plant into the middle of the the tent between both SF1000 better. I watered with pH 6.7 and runoff came out at 6.1, so I’d say that’s improvement. PPMs read 1480, so she’ll be due for nutes soon enough. can anyone tell what kind of deficiency/excess is happening with the plant? (besides Nitrogen, it’s obvious lol) I’m using FF trio and need to figure out what kind of nute concentrate I should make to help rebound the plant.
@ChittyChittyBangin @MidwestGuy
Youre in flower right? 6.1ph is not gonna get it. You need to be at least 6.5 for flower nutes to be able to be taken up by the plant. Youre locking your plant out with too low of a ph. If you add nutes, youre ppm is just going to go up.
Okay, I’ll hold off on nutes and keep watering with 6.8-7.0 until pH reads 6.5. For some reason on my last grow my plant absolutely loved pH 5.8, so much that it absolutely refused to budge no matter how hard I flushed it. Plant looked good and didn’t have any problems.
I just got done fighting it. Brought it in myself though. Forgot i didnt have a buffer in recycled soil because i didnt recharge. Its taken a week or so to see that im unlocked. Bump your ph in to 7.2
