here is my WW auto at 38 days. i know i need to prune and tie off / train as @monkman mentioned. i’m ready to do it, but not quite sure “what to tie off” and what to trim? i hope i don’t kill her, lol
the plant to the right is at 23 days. i’m not exactly sure what strain i have growing, but my hunch tell me it’ll either be “blue dream” or “head bang”. this seed came from one of those two.
purchased this. thanks for the suggestion!
plants are looking great @farmerjohn! as this is your first grow i will tell you what @MattyBear told me on my first grow. “it is best not to do much trimming of leaves on your first grow. just take off dying leaves. it is better on your first grow or two to watch what happens so you can learn how the plant grows.” when you get to flowering you will want to bend leaves out of the way of bud sites and if you can’t bend them and keep them out of the way then trim them.
Unless you are chronic and smoke bags of pot, or make a living selling weed? You dont have to train or prune anything! You could grow a massive cola! Hell yeah!
hey @monkman and @Cannabian. appreciate all your advice. i haven’t done anything to the plant. gonna leave it alone. see what happens. besides, i had ‘paralysis of analysis’ yesterday. glad i didn’t touch my plant. thanks @monkman and @Cannabian, i’ll take that ONE MASSIVE cola. i’m not a chronic, don’t smoke bags of weed and i’ve never sold a gram of pot. but i like the latter idea, recoup my initial investment and help others. we shall see. again, big shout out to @monkman and @MattyBear for passing on sound advice.
i do need everyone’s help in identifying what might be happening here. i’ve never seen a plant in it’s initial flowering stage. is my plant starting to flower?
thanks. all trained eyes are much appreciated.
i’m giving a shout out to another very helpful grower. Bill Ward. he’s an indoor grower. he has a YouTube channel and i find his video’s very helpful and informative. you all might want to take a look and possibly subscribe to his channel. he has done numerous grows, knows the trimming and training techniques and i like the fact that he analyzes the final haul/take and compares it to the amount of energy (electricity) needed to produce those results. effective way of analyzing the return on investment (ROI) with different types of grow mediums. here’s a link to his YouTube channel.
Just showing its parts! The tops of the branches will start to get hairs in a cluster when flowering starts. On another note is that bananas Im seeing there? Dude parts? Better watch for little flower petals! Me thinkest you have a shemale!
hmmm, @Cannabian. they call those bananas, dude parts? WOW. i’m growing White Widow auto. does that mean my seeds aren’t fem’s? i was under the impression that these would all be female seeds. darn, another layer of complexity for me…thanks for your input. you’re the first to comment. hoping other chime in too…
Ive never grown autos ( disclaimer) so Im not an expert here. The middle of the image shown, below the branch looks like dude parts to me.
It is always possible due to genetics, stress or environmental reasons that a plant can go sideways.
Perhaps you can ask others for their opinion? I may be mistaken? Either way if it is a shemale you can pluck the flower parts off and still get decent weed. Or… you can let it do its thing and just get less bud and have it seeded. Still get you stoned its hust seedy and less bud …Again I could be mistaken in my diagnosis but it looks like shemale to me.
@Cannabian. i’m taking your expertise opinion on this. i’ve never been here before in the growing process, so i have no idea what i’m looking at. i hope others will give me (us) input here. thanks, will keep an eye on my baby and see what happens
Sometimes plants will go hermaphroditic with stress or light issues etc. They put out hairs for the female parts and banana like pods that eventually open up into little white flowers that will pollinate the female parts.
Honestly, hermi plants are fairly common. Many bags of pot will have a few random seeds in it, despite the growers efforts to cull males out. A male flower can easily go unnoticed in anbigger grow.
I didn’t see anything male looking, just pistils letting you know the sex and that they’re maturing, ready to flower. With autos, I’d expect them to go right on into full flowering mode from there. I think you might be seeing a chunk of perlite or something in the background that looks like a pollen sack hanging. But my vision leaves a lot to be desired, so there’s that lol
@farmerjohn I think your looking good. If and when you see nanners then worry. I’ve never grown autos so I’m no expert. But what I see says it’s a girl. I’m gonna keep you in my prayers on that and I hope you have a amazing grow!!
What are the 2 banana looking things where the branch comes out?
Looks like what’s left of a petiole after pruning, to me. “Nanners” usually grow out of an already developing bud. Pollen sacs would grow out of the crotch, not under it like that.
Thats kinda what I thought too? Thats what surprised me about that photo…
Looks like there were fan leaves there, if we’re looking at the same spots, one blurryish pointing right at the camera, the other clearer pointing off to the right?
