I’ve repaired all three stems which all hopes and prayers. I’m at work today so I’m going to check ppfd in about 5 hours and make sure everything’s to scratch here’s how the repairs look and how the implants are getting on. I’ve noticed a few leaves dying off I’m assuming this is because of the strain from the break? Anyhow how does it look like it’s coming on now apart from the one trying to save itself ![]()
Good morning I think it’ll be fine, I realized now people do more for their breaks than I bother to, I just tie em steady, while trying to make them wider than they are tall. Re-tying or adding string about once a week to keep the tips from getting too far from level. Some easy bending, spreading, without breaking just a light pull, is useful too for more light exposure. Go wide growmie
Looks like a good repair job to me.
oof! Sorry Growmie, I feel somewhat responsible here. I should have emphasized the words “lightly twist”
I don’t supercrop too often but the times I have, I’ve never had the leaves go limp on me quite like that. But she should recover. ![]()
I haven’t found the video for supercropping made by one of the forum members yet. But you can check out a few on youtube, Here’s a good explanation by Kyle Kushman. ![]()
That video is perfect I’ve managed to do it much better on the smaller stems. Don’t suppose you know what I should do with the other stem that didn’t survive as I’ve got buds growing and thriving at the bottom of it it’s just from the snap up?
The dead leaves almost seem to be blocking the buds at the bottom is there any sort of trimming or pruning I can do?
It looks like you probably just took too big a bite and got a little rough. The older and woodier stems will be harder( but not necessarily impossible) to fold without doing too much damage. It’s an easy mistake to make and a great learning experience.
If it was my plant I’d just make a clean cut below the break and put a little honey on the wound. It doesn’t look like it’s going to recover. The rest of the plant will still produce decent. It’s up to you if you want to wait a few more days to see if it perks back up. If the leaves start getting crispy it’s done.
Update: I decided to snip of the plant that was dying just to ensure that the plant wasn’t wasting its time trying to save it as the leaves went crisp (circled yellow). Plant seems to be coming along okay however I’ve noticed a few spots of yellow and discolouration (circled black) is there any easy explanation for this?
I don’t see anything to worry about yet. A few spots and blemishes are normal especially on older/bigger leaves. just keep an eye on it.
Nice work looking loads better than my negligence cause I ain’t seen them in a week plus you got to sow them beans
I know that was a bit of a task with them lanky legged lady’s in tent but doing great and can’t wait for them 3 to break ground. Ok so we need to go hydro shop and get soil asap we could get high on fri at grow house cause I got some cap junkie strain your gonna have to try with me and my Tropicana cookies won’t be far off ready definitely maybe

Do not use watts with lights, some lights are more efficient than others, and therefore, watts used to make heat are not making photons. Also, more power is not the answer with lights, a good thing to read up on is DLI. Essentially, plants accumulate photons throughout the exposure, kinda like film used to do. DLI is a measure of how much radiation the plant receives during a day. An example would be a light producing twice as many photons but running for half as long produces the same DLI. The advantage that auto flowers have is that they are not photoperiod, meaning light that stays on longer than 12 hours will not make them reveg. This misconception is that they can take way more DLI… or radiation per day. Maybe, but then again maybe not. However you could veg photoperiod in the same room as an example. New studies have shown that most cannabis actually does better during flowering with slightly reduced DLI, and that stands to reason. The sun is usually less intense in the fall. DLI can also be controlled with distance from the canopy. Most lite manufacturers will have a par map at specific heights that can help you determine your DLI. From my perspective, lights are expensive to replace, and they don’t last as long at 100 percent, they also cost significantly more to operate over the life span of your grow when cranked. It’s usually best to dial in your light so that it sits around 12 inches from your canopy. I assume yours has a dimmer?
Very nice! Should get some decent bud!
To be fair I hadn’t looked into that seeming it’s my first attempt I didn’t want to overwhelm myself with too much technical side so I’ve kept them at a safe distance and measured the ppfd and they seem to be thriving so far. So I’m kinda doing trial and error just taking notes as I go along so I’ll deffo look into it thanks. I must say the undertaker that didn’t look so well has absolutely blossomed, the stress training has worked very well on what I managed to do (without snapping) making much bigger buds on top I can already see the thc forming. Also got some A.M.S seeds I’ve just germinated and found a head this afternoon so that will project no.2 and I can’t wait I’m definitely going to be more strict on maintaining these now with all the new knowledge.
Definitely a brilliant journey so far my gromies & merry Xmas to you all over the globe ![]()
Great! Nice to see the trichomes for sure! Yep it’ll make for some good reading. Every little thing you can dial in a tad better improves the overall experience. It does for me too. My friend just shared a method he uses in gutters and sunshine mix… he uses double ended lamps with the covers removed. Looks amazing!
Yes yes they broke ground I can’t wait to see you today you up now haha it’s on bro you got this I told you now we got a fantastic journey with ILGM I’ll call you peace
@Skybluestoner
Have all 3 broke ground or did that sketchy 1 might take a few more days bro ![]()
I like that
i agree with you brother i tried keeping 100 percent throughout a grow when i first started and ended up with foxtails bad.they definitely do better with lower setting towards maturity! And to be honest i havent used my lights at 100 percent since then when i learned about dli. I could probably raise my light more to get it there but im too lazy and would have to move straps differently so the dimmer works just as great haha ![]()
Came back from a lovely time in Spain. Hope everyone had a great xmas. Got back to some lovely results must praise the Mrs for whilst I was away. Ended up cropping for the first time today with help from a top growmie. Here’s how it’s going so far it seems the plant that snapped (undertaker) had took that stress very well and boosted the yield of the top nugs it’s insane. I also planted some seedlings which have come out lovely I’ll pop a picture of them aswell for you guys. Hope everyone has a great new year.![]()
Yes my growmie great start
