I am growing a plant because I wanted to try low stress training. It looks so relaxing.
Well news flash, it ain’t. The cool music all these pro growers play over videos of them effortlessly sculpting and molding plants really masks the swearing, the random “oops” and the guy burying snapped stems and leaves in the soil.
I got off to a rough start. I chose a Girl Scout Cookie auto, dampened a couple of coffee filters and put the seed between them. I didn’t realize there was standing water under the filter, so the seed just soaked and soaked for 4 days without sprouting. It was swollen and black so I thought it was dead and started an LSD autoflower seed the same way, with less water. 24 hours later BOTH seeds had a taproot so I planted both on the 27th of July.
The soaked seed sprouted variegated like crazy. Every leaf was two colors. But it grew at the same pace as the other seed when planted so I will see where it goes. Right now, it’s my favorite of the two.
I started LST too early probably and bent BOTH stems right at the soil line and tied the plants down. I’m getting good site development it seems, but I don’t think either plant will stand on its own.

Only thing like others have said is let it get some clearance to the dirt and do not get nutrients on the leafs.
Are you going to use this as your journal? Fill everyone in on system stuff and lights bla bla bla.
Spider Farmer 2x2, 100w light. I used 5-gallon pots but folded them down so they’re only about 3 gallons. I didn’t want a huge, messy plant for my first grow, so I went small. Good thing, I ended up with two plants when I wanted one.
Might have to double the wattage to flower 2 plants. You’ll be good for veg. General thought is 40 Watts per square foot to flower. With your two they’ll take up roughly 2x2=4 square ft. X40=160 watts. If you can swing it, I’d get a small hlg that really help push those babies through flower. Are they auto or photo? What soil are they in?
Thank you for the info! I have a 2nd tent/light that I picked up on FB marketplace for dirt cheap. Better to add two lights to one tent or set them up independently?
I do 2-4 in a 4x4 tent. I’d do that with both lights. With the autos they will start flowering when ready. Usually 6-7 weeks. You can veg them extra to get a little bigger before flower but likely wont get that tall. That’s @TigerLilly first grow too and she killed it. This is an awesome place with good people that just want to help others grow.

Follow what @kaptain3d … he’s the master in torture and training… This is the best weed place hands down. As @SausageMahoney said, this is my first grow and didn’t expect any of what I grew. Beyond my wildest dreams…well maybe not my wildest.

My plants seem to be healthy despite my ham-fisted LST attempts. I’m noticing all these little bud sites (I think that’s what they are…my first grow) and wondering if they will be productive or just a drain on the plant’s limited resources. Should I “nip them in the bud”?
FYI… you might want to keep your your question about this grow to one journal vs creating multiple ones for your questions. I did the same thing when I started but I had a lot more questions… LOL.
Maybe one of the moderators can help combine into one and rename your journal?
