Advice on LST and a mutation

, I started 4 OG Kush autoflower seeds. 2 of them sprouted, 2 did not. I planted the seeds directly into 5 gallon airpots with dome on top. I used FFOF and mixed in a bag of perlite. First pop was February 14, and second pop was February 16. Today they are 2 weeks old. I wanted to show a couple pictures of the 2 plants that I have. The second plant is super small and also deformed/ mutant. Please let me know if this was something I did or not . I am allowing it to grow( why not). I noticed that is has actually grown some at the end of this week, excited to see what happens with the little one. I think, the first plant is looking really good for day 14, but I’m not 100 percent sure because this is my first time ever growing cannabis. I do enjoy growing other things from seed.
I really am curious if I should start some LST training on the larger plant, or do I wait a little longer??
Only been giving these guy’s ph’d water. Was maybe going give some cal mag and start with some FF grow big in another week.
Any advice is greatly appreciated

Hello and welcome!

Our plants are plants, and sometimes it’s easy to forget that there are variances in genes of individual plants that make them grow faster or slower independent of their environment.

The first plant is really strong, which is making the weaker one look even weaker by comparison. If all you had was the weak one, you’d probably not think much of it other than it’s a slow grower.

I have a journal that follows my first (current) grow and I’m about a week away from harvesting my first plant. I started my first LST training on day 16 I think. What’s kinda cool about growing these things is there are LOTS of ways to create successful outcomes. Here is my plant as of last Thursday:

Awesome, thank you I will check it out!
My very first grow, and I think I got a really good first plant (14 days sprouted) and my little lady (12 days sprouted). I’m excited to see what happens with both!
The bigger girl has really grown over this weekend, I was trying to think, what is the next step? Such a first timer that I am😂

that is some sick node spacing :+1:

You could wait until you have abt 5 nodes to begin bending her over. Be sure to tie the main stem in the opposite direction of your initial bend so that you don’t pull her out of the pot.

Best of luck.

Thank you, this is what she looks like today

she’s progressing. Give her a little more time and then you can begin training. You could search posts by typing “LST”. You will find lots of info and guidance.

Best of luck.

Thank you

I think the lst during veg is probably the most fun part of the grow for me. It’s really fun to get the plant to grow just how you want it to grow. I felt like mr myagi from the karate kid trimming his bonzai bushes but it was FUN!!

Yeah, I’m excited to try, but nervous at the same time ! Haven’t done this before and I don’t want to screw it up.
The 2 that I had sprout, one is a mutation I believe, but it it growing, I hope eventually she will catch her sister lolll, but I have some doubt. Wait and see I guess

No growing outside here
Nice! Just can’t do I side what mother nature does ,

@Abbeyw29 See how @Oheeeoh tied the base of the main stem? Make sure to do that. Then you will pull the top don down in the opposite direction. She will be almost parallel to the ground. She will turn up and keep reaching for the light. The side branches will do the same. You will have to keep tying them down, readjusting, and repositioning your tying. Try to visualize the direction you want to train and make a plan for that. You want to try and have a uniform top canopy of multiple budding locations.

Kk I see what @Oheeeoh was doing, I’m so nervous, I just don’t want her to break, just paranoid first timer,
I think I have a little while yet before I start???

Yes probably a few more nodes. If you can, get to Walmart arts and crafts section they sell those fuzzy sticks in a pack of 25 for like 96 cents. They work perfectly for lst.

Thank for all of the advice! Much appreciated!
Once I get a grow in, maybe I won’t be so nervous!
I have 4 that Just sprouted 4 days old tomorrow.
I thought they were all gonna die because I thought they were damping off. They greened up and slowly opened up! Was nuts!

The plants will surprise you with how resilient they are.

Nice! As she begins to bend back upwards, keep pulling her down. Then the side branches will start to shoot up. You will have to train those as well.

Just some suggestions. Look at how she is growing and think of how you want her to grow. You control that!

You will see the side branches really reach out and grow.

Continued success.
