Good luck, autos have been tough for me. Very finicky

Auto feminized can be very picky but once I’ve gotten the seeds germinate I’ve never lost a plant except for one. That plant was from somebody I got a clone from and lucky me the Clone had spider mites on it. I had no clue what they were because this was the first thing I’ve ever grown before. But I was so disappointed to spend like 2 to 3 month only to find all these tiny, tiny little black things that sort of moved. Spider mites are basically impossible to get off your plant without killing the darn plant due all the pesticides that you would need use. Once they are in the flower forget it. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be vaping spider mites or insecticide. But for me getting the seed to germinate is how I lose most seeds. But there’s several things that I have done that have helped me ensure my plant get though the next phase. One is when I put the seed in the cup I make sure the root of the seed is covered but I keep the very top of the seed exposed. Then I cut holes in the bottom of the cup and I actually the plant being watered from the bottom up so I’m not distrubing rhe seed when I water it. I also make sure the dirt is wet before I plant the seed. Once I have the seed planted, I take a piece of plastic wrap and cover the top of the cup and put a few holes in the plastic with a pen and then use a rubber band or tie it on top of the cup. This gives the plant a greenhouse effect and helps the seeds to pop open much quicker. Many times the seed will pop open and actually be growing with those little leaves in a day or two. However if you put the seed in the dirt and it’s covered with dirt then it’s going to take longer and may not pop up at all. The other issue I find is sometime is the shell comes off but there is a coating over the leaf part and if that does not come off the leave will not open and the plant dies. Once I get where that lining is off, I then put the seed with the root back in the dirt. By the next day I usually have another set of leave already half grown. Meanwhile I use Auto feminized plants so I just basically keep my light on for 20 hours a day and water it every single day and add some food every 3 days or so. I usually get 1 to 2 oz per plants, which is enough to last me for 4 to 6 month.

I get 100% germination by planting seed directly into moist soil with a clear cup over the solo cup, and setting on my internet box. I’ve found that growing autos to full potential is challenging. I just don’t get the results I do with photos. Got this auto going on day 17. I had one seed left and thought I’d use it.

I have been growing autos for awhile now and have had good results but also have had some just not do anything. And a few that made you go whoa. Slow start and then the last goes by pretty fast definitely be sparing with nutrients they are very finicky where that goes but you will be very happy with end results. I will also follow along. Happy growing :hugs:

I am wondering if anyone has added ground up egg shells in the soil to give plants extra nutrients? I rinse and bake them in a oven at 220 degrees for 20 minutes then blend them until they are a powder.

Autos are very easy to grow. They’re very particular and there’s very little room for error as they’re on the clock.

One of my seeds popped. Waiting for the other 2. The others are some clones I took off one of my plants. They are about in week 5.

Taking a clone off an Auto does not restart the clock on its life.

I see water beads. That will cause burn spots from the light

How frequently are you watering? They look overwatered. I bet the bottom of ur pot is soaked. How’s your drainage? Be careful of root rot.

I have a moisture meter and only water them when it shows dry. The more mature they get they drink a lot of water. They seem to need watering every other day.
