This is 5 plants (Train Wreck) in 3 gallon fabric bags, medium is coco coir. Just put them into flowering cycle. Wondering if I should take the runt out to give the big girls more room. Your thoughts welcomed.
Tent is 4x2
Def a full house. Lol.
Sometimes ya have to make the hard call to give up one for the good of the rest.
@Growdoc @OGIncognito
Might be able to add some thoughts.
I know it sucks. I hate to kill a good plant tho . ![]()

Might need to do a little pruning later to get good airflow and light penatration, but thats no big deal

@Oldguy thanks for tag Brother. 2 plants is my limit and sometimes will push it with 3 in a 2 x 4. Plant width will be the challenge. At a minimum I try and give each plant 2 sqft of grow space. There are training techniques that keep the plant narrow like a Quadline or Nebulas manifold with this training done early in veg. You could manifold these you would just have to extend the veg period a few weeks.
6 plants in a 2 x 4 using Nebulas Manifold
My typical 2 plant topped with LST
Welcome to the forum! You will have a full tent…but with some training and pruning it can work. When I get a runt I put something under the pot to raise it to the level of the others so It can compete for the light.
Good luck with your grow!
Welcome to the community , I would finish out the grow with the number plants You have, but you might consider next grow Two plants in that size space will produce about the same yield with less work. Good luck ![]()
Yeah my last grow I had 2 plants in 5 gallon bags. Decided to try more plants in smaller bags this time but I think I will go back to the tried and true next time.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I decided the runt has to go, found her a nice spot outside in a safe place. Hoping she can handle the heat here in the tropics.
The runt Plant should be fine outside.Cannabis plants are pretty tough.
They will double in size after flip. Veg until half of the size then flip. I have 1 plant in my 4x2 tent, 1 week into flower. It will double in size by harvest time.
Welcome to the community @cob !
I usually go 4 per 4x4 tent. Plus the height on a 2x4 will eventually limit your lights height above the canopy. All light manufacturers have a minimum distance… that’s why my 2x4 sits…I may use it for germination or cloning.
Hello fellow farmer. Hope all is well! First off nice work on those healthy green little laddies. Good work
You are off to a great start.
A few points I would like to hit on.
Space size. This can really be set on the back burning at times. Our minds like to think the more green we see in the room during veg will “always” result in more buds come harvest day. Yes this is true when simply looking at plants but pair that with the size of the grow room and it can be a catastrophic disaster!
In my perspective you are maxed out for the number of plants if let be. With alittle work you may be alright.
Light penetration With so much foliage your bud sites are not going to get the adductive amount of light needed to fully mature and reach there max potential. This will lead to airry, leafy and larfy flowers.
This will also add to lower thc levels due to the plant not being able to fully ripen.
I would maybe think about doing alittle big leafing. Not much but just enough to allow the light to darn-near hit the floor in a few spots. It may seem counterproductive right now but you will reap the rewards later on.
Give the plants a week or two to recover and and reassess the situation.
Depending on the your thoughts you may simply want to flip them to 12/12 at that time.
You might want to big leaf again.
You might want to remove one and give it to a buddy.
You might do both.
That’s the beauty of the grow. You are the farmer and can learn what works for you.
