Molasses? Yes or no?

I have been seeing people put that they add molasses to their feeding. I’m curious if this is the same type of molasses that my wife uses for baking? And if not how and where do I get it? And how much do I use in a gallon of water? If it makes the smoke sweeter I would like that. Or if you have any other suggestions I will take those into account also. Thanks so much for the help you guys have done a world of good for my first grow. I am 14 weeks in since she popped out of the dirt, and 7 weeks into flower. I believe Sheila is doing wonderful. While sometimes used as a sweetener or cooking ingredient, molasses is also used to improve the health and yield of cannabis plants. This sticky syrup contains a wealth of nutrients that help to drive plant development and soil health, including

Carbohydrates:These simple sugars serve as a life-giving energy source to beneficial microbes in the soil. As you feed bacteria and fungi in the rhizosphere, they multiply and help plants tap into nutrients :love_you_gesture:

You should use unsulphered black strap molasses. Here is an excellent article on using molasses for your grow.

I use this but any will do as long as unsulphered.

Well stated!

I used to, but it can attract gnats, and I feel recharge is a better product that achieves better results than unsulphered molasses. Recharge is kind of expensive, but it goes a long ways.

I use molasses with every grow. I like to add it to our freshly brewed teas. Durring the entire grow I use about two gallons.

Any home brewers might try dried malt extract. The sugars in barley malt are great for microbe growth. I would imagine 1 tsp per gallon would do the trick.

This is actually used in labs to propagate bacteria cultures.
So it would work well in soil to do the same.

Use in moderation. Good stuff but pests love it also. A little goes a long way.

When I brew a 50 gallon tea and the plants are in veg I use about 2 cups. Once they fit flower I slowly increase is. At the end of flower I’m at about 4+ cups per 50 gallon mix.

I too have 3 g diddy purps now in wk 12 from germ. Pics on my channel. Molasses wise, i use a product called myko chum, that feeds the microbes. A large percentage of its ingredients is Molasses. Check it out. Has multiple good things in it. @NeoGroR tipped me off about it. Just be careful, as it drops ph easily. I often use it as ph down as well. At least you get added benefits while dropping your ph. May we both have a successful GDP harvest!!
