What is the purpose of using molasses when feeding your plants?
My understanding from what I’ve read is as follows:
first make sure you use organic unsulfered molasses. This has a high potassium content with other trace minerals. The potassium helps with bud development. I’ve also read it helps the flavor of bud. Being a newbie myself I can’t say whether or not it alters the flavor but I Did use it on my first grow and my buds are certainly fat and tasty . I’m sure others can give you more of a scientific explanation but when used properly it’s a somewhat natural way of providing nutes your plant needs or wants during flowering and I feel like it helped my girls fill out and develop sticky trichomes.
Regards!
I would really love to know if it actually works though
@Ntense thanks. That’s actually exactly what I was wondering. @ktreez420 I’d like to know if that works also cause if it does, I’d think my soon to be planted strawberry kush would be very awesome tasting and smooth…
Looks !@#$ing beautiful @Ntense, would you mind explaining your process of using the molasses?
What do you buy? How do you use it in your plants? When? How much? Lol I’m really curious now!
Treez
Absolutely beautiful man. Good job. @Ntense
Think I could just dissolve in water and add to my DWC?
Thanks @hh420. @ktreez420, man I really can’t answer that one… I am a beginner and have learned a lot this last grow but I have no idea on a dwc. I would pose that question to more experienced growers with hydro experience. I wouldn’t want to give you a wrong answer and have it hose your grow. I’ll keep you guys posted on the growth of the clones, these were taken 3 weeks into flower, placed back into 18/6 schedule and vegged for another 30 days. For not doing anything at all other than feeding them they don’t look bad. Let me know what you find out on molasses and dwc, I would be interested!
Regards!
I’ve never tried it but I’ve read some growers use up to a teaspoon / gallon in dwc. It seems the only problem with it is foam ?
-good luck
Great info @pigSquishy
Thanks for the post. I will check out the videos!
Regards!
I’ve been growing a long time indoors and have tried everything including High Brix, which IMO, is the absolute best way to grow pot.
Saying that, following High Brix, takes specialized amendments and time putting it all together, so I don’t always use it.
Instead of High Brix, I have narrowed down the nutrients needed for optimum success as plants only need and can take so much nutrient.
First I make a soil mix of ProMix, Black Gold, and Perlite.
For anyone, especially new growers, IMO, DynaGro has the best nutrients to add to your soil mix.
All you need.
VEG CYCLE
Foliage Pro 9-3-6-follow the label directions.
Pro Tekt-this helps your plants have tougher leaves making it harder for critters to bite.
One caveat; PH must be checked before using the soil again, it will probably be high, and it’s quickly rectified adding hydrated lime to your first watering.
Pure Neem Oil-all you need if you have problems with critters. A couple of sprays on top and under leaves does the trick. My plants have been assaulted by thrips over the years, and this does work. You can use it during veg or flowering and best of all; it’s not poison.
FLOWERING CYCLE:
Continue to use Foliage Pro and Pro Tekt
Mag Bloom-add to every other watering.
I like growing like this because it’s straightforward and easy to follow and the results have been proven over and over by myself. My plants always look great throughout the grow period and the weed is terrific.
Always remember; less is better than more when it comes to nutrients and always follow label directions.
For example, if the directions call for 1 TSP per gallon of water, don’t think you’ll get twice the benefit if you use 2 TSP. You’ll just waste your money and hurt your plants.
I answered a post about how long it took to get ordered seeds and noticed this post about Molasses and thought I’d chime in.
I wish I lived in Massachusetts or Colorado.

I’m a newbie too so here is some real help
@Donaldj @Paranorman @FloridaSon @ktreez420 are some of the more seasoned growers
The strain that works best depends on individual body chemistry. What works best for me may not be the best for you.
Whatever strain your wanting to try, you should go for a high percentage of amber with your trichomes. This will ensure that you have a higher concentration of the CBD oils that help with pain.
Please feel free to ask the questions needed to get you where you need to be. We’re all eager to help…
