Hey ya , just curious about what y’all think. I have a scope to see trichromes too. But how long do y’all go after you got a good fade going on???

I agree, trichomes are the best way to judge. I’ve grown a ton of Mephisto strains, and the only area where I find their info to be inaccurate is finish times. All of my Mephisto plants have gone approx 14 weeks. Even the strains that claim to be 60 to 65 days seed to harvest have taken at least 91 to 98 days, and that’s with really good lighting and HLG far red bulbs as well. I’ve loved every single plant, the buds are always top notch, just not nearly as fast as they claim.
I’m looking forward to picking up some 4 Assed Monkey and Forgotten Cookies next week. Been waiting a long time to get them, and they’re on Monday’s drop.

Rule of thumb ive always followed is once you have those fall colors popping its time to start watching trichomes but ive never solely went off of plant fade to determine the final days trichomes tell all!!

Agree with the other cultivators, I don’t pick a scope up until I see the pistils have turned and start receding :love_you_gesture:

Not everybody says this. People do finish in 60 to 70 days. I’m concerned about your soil and nutes? Are you doing living soil organic? Because if not. Lights aren’t the only thing that promotes fast growth!

My plants don’t grow slowly, and I don’t have any problems with them. I just feel like the finish times on the website are inaccurate based on my experience with them. I’m not saying anything bad about them, and I don’t mind that it takes mine 14 weeks to finish, it’s always worth it in the end.

I use Mother Earth Coco Peat soil and Advanced Nutrients along with a few products from Microbe Life Hydroponics.

These are 2 Walter Whites in my 2 x 4 tent. They took a full 14 weeks to finish, but the yield was awesome in size, smell, taste, and effect.

Here’s 2 Hubbabubbasmelloscopes in my 2 1/2 x 5 tent. They also took 14 weeks, and also both yielded awesome buds.

And a few Alien vs Triangles in my closet grow. They went just over 15 weeks, but they were all close to 6 feet tall and yielded a ton of awesome dank buds.

Do you lst? Chop the center cola?

Sometimes I do, it depends on the strain, how much spare time I have, and how they look as seedlings. The grow in the pics I posted I did very little training.
I have a couple of Mango Smiles going right now that I had to supercrop because they were going to be way too tall. The Mango Smiles always get huge, I’ve never had a small one.

That strain looks interesting. What are the effects/buzz like?

It’s a good high energy buzz for sure, and it lasts longer than average as well. Mango Smile is the most Sativa dominant plant in their entire catalog. The ones I’ve grown have wanted more nutrients than most of their other plants as well. They’re very hungry girls!

Yeah, like 85%, they say. :yum: Thanks for the info, maybe someday I’ll grow one. @Graysin has a Mango Smile going, I’ll be :eye: :eye:, of course. :slightly_smiling_face:

So far she’s doing great. I’ll try to give you a status report on all my autos tonight! I’ve been neglecting updates on them since they’re so little (except Triks, who is little but throwing pistils already).

Expect that Mango Smile to get huge, every one I’ve grown so far have been monsters!

I’m counting on it. I threw a bunch of autos in some coco in a frenzy, trying to get some fast turnaround bud while I nurture seed-makers. Seedy weed smokes fine but it’s a b!tch :joy:

From what I’ve read and from just my one experience, it seems like Fast Buds are generally pretty quick. But, BUT, I know you are already seed-heavy, LOL. I harvested the Fast Buds Mexican Airlines on only day 81 with some amber trichomes, which turned out to be a late harvest, as she usually feels more like an indica, not the sativa-dominant plant she is/was. Next time, no amber on that strain. :joy:

So I’ve grown lot’s of “fast strains” and from my experiencethey aren’t very fast.
However a Alien moon rocks by Twisted Tree I just grew fir example. Buy day 60 it was a good size and all the trichomes was very cloudy, i was shocked thinking "this is crazy, it actually had a good bit of nice smoke on it at 2 months old!
But I wanted amber so i let it go anout 4 weeks and it absolutely doubled in size.

This is legit the only 1 I’ve seen move so fast so I guess genetics are capable, but i don’t think the stability or consistency is there like advertising makes it seem.
