Good morning starshines!!! It’s a great day! Not much going on. It got down into the 50’s last night and early this morning and the AC is off for the first time in well over a month.

Happy Sunday everyone.UPDATE:

Ok so I have two plants who are 20 days today. When we watered them last night we noticed that Northern lights had a couple little roots poking out of the drainage holes in the 4-inch pot. Decision was made to transplant the two big sisters today. So about and hour before sundown (for them) we did the deed. We have 2 lb plastic grow bags we transplanted them into. Hopefully I didn’t kill them lol. Cuz ya know, if anyone can kill a plant transplanting it, it would be yours truly.

The little sisters - 5 of them are still a tad young to transplant. They are 13 days old today and look healthy and happy. No roots are showing, so maybe next weekend we will be looking at moving the little girls to their 2lb homes. Also, hubby (wonderful guy he is) built me a light bar which we will be adding to the existing MH gull wing set up we have. Since the heat is preventing us from turning the MH to full power, we are hoping that the addition of CFL’s and an LED or 4 might help. This will bring our lumens per sqft up to around 5300K. Mid range I think according to the charts I see on lumens and vegetative. here are some pictures:

and finally the light bar:

So, there ya go. :crab: :weight_lifting_man: :seedling:

Cool light frame!!

Thanks @FreakyDeekie, I will pass that along to hubby. Now if we could just get it to work! lol. Story ahead…

So last night after the gurlies woke up, we decided to hang the new light bar. In order to do that we needed to turn off the existing light so we moved the babies into my sons newly constructed grow cabinet. pictured here:

Quite a nice little set up, although it isn’t totally complete yet. He is waiting on his exhaust fan (hopefully arrives today). But, the light is there - same one as we have the only difference is he has a cooling tube and man I am kicking myself for not getting a cooling tube! We have the 400watt MH up to 100% strength and temps are between 78 and 80 degrees. We do have the door slightly ajar for the fan, but the girls seem to be loving the new light!!

Here are the two we transplanted yesterday:

Northern Lights is in the foreground and Purple Haze is to the back of her, no evidence of shock yet. The other five (2 weeks old today) are doing great.

So I am going to keep these ladies in sons grow cabinet for a week and see how they do. Eventually we will have to separate them as the cabinet will not accommodate 7 flowering plants, but we will keep working on the original grow room and see what we can do with it…

Have a great Monday everyone!

Rodri

HAH forgot the original intent of this post! So we hung the new light bar in the grow room (off the basement, not this grow cabinet), plugged it in, and…nuttin. It worked fine upstairs. So we wiggled the plug and it popped on, but like I told hubs I am NOT going to deal with a plug that I have to wiggle to make a connection (thinking sparking, fires etc) so he will work on it through the week…so there you go.

@FreakyDeekie Finally got the light bar working! The picture shows 6 of the 10 lights on and the MH is not on. It is UBER bright in there even without the MH and negligible heat so yay on that.

On another note, just got an order of Yankee Cndles so I am sitting here tripping on the most AMAZING smells lol

Hope everyone is having a good day!!!

Here are the little ladies today No sign of shock from the transplant…so :knocking on wood: hopefully they are going to be okay. They are still in sons grow cabinet. We got the light bar frame working but now hubby wants to try and run a vent from the exhaust fan down towards the MH light so maybe I can turn it up to 75% strength. Current set up with 50% MH plus 10 CFL’s will give me about 4000K per sqft. Not optimal but passable I suppose.

Son is able to keep his MH at 100% and he is at 5500K per sqft.

We are still just watering and foliar spraying with PH’d water. No nutes yet since FFOF is pretty rich. Cotelydons are still very green and healthy looking on each plant. They are on 18/6 schedule.

Hey girl, lookin’ good!!! I know lots of people will say something about the stretch and all but what the heck, it is what it is and you can kinda get hold on that over time with changes in lighting and transplanting the stem deeper when the time comes. You go girls!!

Yup yup there is that stretttttttttching thing. But honest to goodness the stretch happened when they first emerged from the peat pellets they were in. Of course they decided to ermmmm rise to the occasion on a day I had to be away for most of. Since we tossed them under the mh the stretching has stopped.

I plan on transplanting the “littles” this coming weekend and plan to bury the stem a bit and see how that does.

How are your gurls doing Freaky?

Looking really good @rodri59. You are off to a great start with your girls.

My ladies seem to be doing well. I had some stretch initially too and got it under control pretty quickly but I did have to bury the stem a bit deeper than I would have liked, but it worked out pretty well so I guess it’s all good. This WW Auto’s 2 main colas grew from 3 1/2 inches tall to 5 inches tall in about 3 1/2 days. Today they are 16 days in flower @rodri59 I feel like that is good growth for my first grow. I know that’s nothing like some of the others have seen on here but considering the early growth was likely influenced by using just a T5 and a 45 watt led I feel accomplished

Wow @FreakyDeekie! They look beautiful! You should be very proud for your first grow. You can only get better from here, right?! Hopefully hubs will let you do it again  Thanks for the sneak peek!!

Hope you don’t mind…I took some liberties with your lady. The lights we use to grow are not conducive to good photography are they lol

That’s great, thanks!! :-). I keep meaning to get down there before the lights come on and take a pic but haven’t gotten around to it yet! That white on the leaves is diatomaceous earth because I became convinced that I had bugs, lol, don’t think I actually did as the fly paper and those sticky traps have never shown me anything. I thought I saw a gnat flying out of the tent one day but I think I may have just been paranoid
