Don’t feel bad about the sugar leaves thing @rodri59. I didn’t know until I started reading these forums back in May! I had to google it, LOL
Me too. There’s a lot of jargon that gets thrown around. You’ll sound like an old time pot grower in no time lol.
i was just about to step forward and ask the same thing… you aren’t in that rowboat by yourself!!!
i’m guess i’m the dunce <:-) you are talking about the smaller less green leaves , not the greener longer leaves, correct?
Yeah cheapsweater, the little leaves that are between the buds that form the colas. I had to look all of this stuff up many weeks ago, I just had no clue!
lol this is the easiest way to remember…Sugar leaves are leaves that look coated in sugar lol
That’s why we call them the sugar leaves, because really they’re just leaves with trichomes on them.
Man I love you guys!
Good morning boo’s! Hey I have a question @FreakyDeekie @SmoknGranny do you guys drink coffee? and if so have you heard of bullet-proof coffee? Freaky you might have seen my posts on the morning garden thread…since we are (or were) talking about cannabutter and all.
@cheapsweater yeah sometimes I feel pretty dumb with all the jargon. I just ask and usually people are pretty nice about asking like @ktreez420. I don’t feel there are any stupid questions, just stupid people who ask them
I usually only drink coffee in the winter @rodri59. I like an ice cold Diet Mt Dew first thing in the morning and then will switch to coffee for a couple of cups. Have heard of bullet-proof coffee maybe a year ago or so but didn’t try it because I have terrible issues. with triglycerides, no matter what dietary changes I make. To add to that I have cholesterol issues and cannot take any of the meds created thus far due to familial genetic hypercholesterolemia and get stomach issues when I take the cholesterol meds. I was going to try it but then I started reading how coconut oil wasn’t nearly as good for us as had been preciously touted. Still want to try it but was looking at the cost of grass fed butter and it was upwards of $10 a pound. With my addictive personality I figure I would be wanting it every day and pretty soon I would end up in the hospital with another clogged artery in the heart. LMAO, I know that was TMI but hey my motto has always been " always say what you mean in 100 words when you could have gotten the point across at under 10
@FreakyDeekie have you heard of Dr. Richard K. Bernstein? He is a diabetes doc but he addresses cholesterol since most of us diabetics also have hypercholesterolemia. He advocates a way of eating that seems to work to bring down bad cholesterol numbers. Anything that is considered an MCT is good for us. I don’t think that coconut oil is a miracle cure it originally touted to be, but it can help in bringing down the bad C and bringing up the good C. A very simplified explaination, the doc goes into it much better than I ever could. Also, not sure where you buy your grassfed butter, but WOW that is a high price. I get a pound for around 7$. But than again I don’t go for name brand lol. If you have an Aldi near you you might check there.
Haven’t heard of that doctor but will do some checking on him. We don’t have an Aldi’s, just Kroger where I live. We do have a local co-op health food store and I imagine they probably have it but I bet it’s price is dear if you aren’t a member of the co-op. I will check around.
Yep. NO ONE bothers or should talk to me until I get some coffee in me in the morning! And since the power outage I now have canned ready to drink espresso in my cupboard . I’ll try to look at your bullet coffee today. FYI: woke up to 64 degrees and it’s just the first of August!!!
It’s supposed to get down to 53 here tonight. Think I will shut off the AC later today and give it a break @SmoknGranny
Latest and greatest of my babies (warning under-age weed p*rn ahead) wow that sounds so icky! Taken yesterday at 16 and 9 days old… YES I KNOW SOME HAVE STRETCHED… lol I am working on that issue.
and yes the radio is still tuned into WXYRedneck.
What the heck?! Where are you guys from, the North Pole?
We’ve been up the 100’s with heat indexes 110- 116 for the past few weeks, cool front coming through. Soon enough I am guessing it will be back up in the upper 90s and low 100’s I’m in the Midwest. This place is like living in HELL in the summer sometimes! The girls are looking good though, like they are going to be basketball players. Mine did that stretch too so when I transplanted them I buried some of the excess stem in the soil and that worked…
Ok to use frozen fresh trimming and dried? Also, should I put that thru blender after weighing out before putting into crockpot? Thanks for your great advice PS I’m going to try this in a Little Dipper crockpot with minimal water as I think it’s going to be pretty full with pound of butter and an oz
I thought about that myself. I keep the house at 75 so it’s not kicking in. I really don’t think summer is over yet!!!
Yea when I say fresh trim, I mean trim that was taken while the plant was still green, or just after harvesting. So it’s not actually dried at all, but will work great for bubble hash and not for cooking.
For butter or cooking you want to use dried trimming, but frozen. Just so you don’t get the two confused!
Okay. Thanks. I think I have it now. My dried trim is in baggies in an dry proof ammo box but not frozen. Arghhh
