Marty McFly Weed 2nd grow Journey/Journal

Pass the popcorn please.

I’ve always stuck my seeds directly in the dirt about 1/2 to 1" deep. I’ve only ever had one seed fail to pop.

No need to put them in darkness doing it this way. This is how i start my tomato plants. They get darkness under the soil and plenty moisture.

Thanks for the tag! I do the h202 and water mixed as well. The H202 also helps keep any mold away. Instead of a seedling heat mat, I use one of my cat’s pet bed heater mats. Cheaper and I already have a couple hanging around the house… and they are dual purpose LOL

You’ll LOVE the Mauie Wowie!

Yeah, i have them on a seedling heating matt right now. I think thats where i was going wrong because I’ve always had low percentage germ rates. They need to think its spring time. I never payed attention to temperatures. I was seeing white tips i thought as i was taking them out of the glass and into their germination containers. I went straight into spent soil in solo cups with them. No need for a paper towel. I keep the soil moist until i see green.

Oh I’m late to the party Marty McFly weed

I second what caligurl reason for the peroxide cleaning any pathogens on the seeds

I just let them float on top of water till tap roots are out
And if I pop 10 or more the ones with the root barley out I then put in paper towels till there ready

I’ll be watching your grow from @anon34311147 to Marty Mcfly Weed lol

Yeah, it stuck, Mcfly weed… i decided to put them straight into dirt from the cup of water. I was seeing white spots that i knew were the tap roots on a couple of them. There on a heating matt in the darkness of my tent. I just have to keep them warm and moist for a few days. I think the whole thing with the paper towel is its traditional. I dont believe its nessassary to germinate properly but it makes it easy. The problem with going into soil is the seed could sink too deep from to much watering to keep the soil moist. I am aware of the dangers and i am on top of it. This is how I’ve done alot of tomato seeds.
Thanks for watching my journal. I am going to be doing alot to these plants for the first time. I’ve only ever topped a plant but I have 4 started and i plan on FIMing one and heavy LSTing on another and so on. Each 4 will get a different treatment. I will have alot of questions for you.
