Just curious what everyone thinks about adding these to existing full spectrum lighting four sh2000 during flower. Any experience or thoughts. Run full 12 hours only run 6 hours or any other amount of time. Don’t bother any thoughts at all.
@dbrn32 @Growdoc @ anyone else
Always thinking I need more red and to turn down the full spectrum or not.
I probably wouldn’t mess with them but I’m sure there is scenarios that may make sense.
I can’t run my light wide open, so no help for me and I’ve tried 4 100 watt 2700 kelvin lights on all four sides and don’t see one bit of difference.
Well maybe thats that. Was thinking 2 things rspec and the light @Growdoc has that he can adjust veg and flower with separate dimmers.
@Low like to hear your thoughts also.
I saw this and didn’t respond, but since ya tagged me. What are your intentions and expectations from it exactly? What’s the space you are filling?
The newest Szhlux 1060 light has separate dials for Red and Blue/White, as well as a dial for uv lights in it. Price can’t be beat, we’ll see about longevity, I’ve got 2 years on mine with no problems. HLG is good stuff, but pricey.
Tent is 60x32x80. Have four 200 true watt lights in there to equal 800 watts.
Was thinking of putting up another tent and using my single 400 true watt light and adding the red lights on each side. I know I have enough veg light with the 400 but did not get the bud tightness I want. [I do get that with the 800 watts in the 1st tent]
Hopeing to get tighter buds with the 400 watts
So I guess I want to have a use for the sh4000 and not buy 4 more sh2000. Will if I don’t get results though.
Yeah man, so the idea of adding the Mars Hydro Red30 bars to the SH4000 setup could definitely help to a degree, especially in flower, but it’s not going to replace having stronger full-spectrum intensity like what you’re getting with the 800 watts in your main tent. Red and far-red help with flower development and bud density, but they’re more of a supplement than a fix. If your SH4000 isn’t pushing enough PPFD across the whole canopy, the Red30s aren’t going to magically tighten up buds by themselves. If you’re trying to stretch that 400-watt setup to perform closer to your main tent, yeah, throw the reds on for the full 12 hours, not just a few, and make sure they’re hitting the canopy evenly. It could be a smart move, or it could be a let down.. if you still don’t see results, more power might still be the answer, which would render the purchase unnecessary. PPFD and coverage is king. Supplementals are hit and miss.
That would rule out the 1060 and the 840. The 620 would fit, that’s what I have in my tent, it’s 4x4. The 840 and 1060 are about 4ft square.
Thanks @Low I could go with 4 of these and have 1200 watts. I’m going to think and look at more.
Going to even look at hlg but they do a lot of warranty work. I hear a lot of hlg has a good warranty when I had to use it. I don’t like having to use warranties. I generally throw the broke piece of crap in the garbage and buy from someone else. The problem is I do like the sound of there rspec and may have to give them a try if they have a way of putting 800 watts or more in that tent
I like the sayhons but want to try something different. I still have bestva’s in a box somewhere. Some blurples to. I don’t get rid of any of them. Some day I’m going to retire and won’t have money to splurg like this and may need them. 66 now going for maybe 70 if I keep feeling like I do now. Afraid of losing my ambition getting bored and sitting around if I quit working. Besides I have an awsome job. It’s also my hobby being a mechanic.
Anyway the mars light.

Is the tent your trying to use spider farmer 5x2.5?
If so something like this might be more accommodating, not 100% footprint but a better option. $270 with $40 off coupon
Sorry I’m lit might have lost focus
I’ve drank a lot since this convo has started LOL I’m good with numbers and specs but sometimes lose details in the fog
This one I put 4 plants in them and like to have 200 watts per plant. Also like each plant to have it’s own light so I can adjust it to each plants height. Couldn’t do that with my sh4000 anyway.
The tent.
