Looking to grow How much does it stink?

Looking to set up a tent using a carbon filter. Probably two plants. Ive never seen or smelled a grow in person. What stages give off smell and how bad is it with or without filtration? Im sure this is a dumb question but I appreciate anyones time.

Um… ya… um… ya…

Seriously… uuummmmmm… yaaaa…

Pretty stinky… you will definitely know there’s skunks in the neighborhood…
So if you see a dead one on the road pull over and throw it in the trunk and then get it to your house as fast as possible and then throw that skunk in your closet for a week…
…
… ya … it’s kinda like that…
then take that skunk and throw it out by the street…
nothing like free camouflage…
The good news is , once your at this for about 6 months you wont even notice that dead skunk smell in the closet…:grin::rofl::rofl::sweat_smile::joy::joy::sweat_smile::laughing:
Im sorry… im on one right now…
I couldn’t help myself… :smiling_imp::smiling_imp::smiling_imp:
But ya … definitely look into carbon filters and stuff… they can help out plenty…
All joking aside… yes you can smell them…
Even just one plant…

They have an aroma as early as mid-late veg state. I am currently exhausting to the outside and can notice a slight smell if I stand by my vent while outside (I switched to flower on 1/9). I’m not using my filter as to not waste it. I will throw it on once the smell starts getting really noticeable. If I leave my tent open, the scent fills my room pretty quickly. I am also cooking a white widow and it is one of the lesser pungent strains.

Mine i could smell in veg stage. I can open my tent in the basment and go up stairs and smell it. But im also in late flowering right atm. But even in late veg stage they can start to have an order to them. U do become desensitized to it so it smells more then u think. imo

What strain are you growing, as some strains smell more than others.

In trying to be cheap, i asked the same “stupid” question. With an overwhelming answer of “get the damn filter” lol so get the filter.

I wouldn’t cal it “stinky”, but growing marijuana certainly puts off a certain scent.
My favorite is around week 3-5. So sweet and candy like.

So does weed growing smell like weed to the neighbors or does weed to them smell like sweet candy?

What if neighbors never smelt weed before, would they just think its a sweet smell of “something” ?

My cherrypie hasnt really started smelling too strong just yet… and they say its smells like cherrypie baking…that to me is a good enough of a disguise… who needs a carbon filter when the neighbours think you’re baking

It smells like weed to your neighbors. :slightly_smiling_face:
When a strain is said to have a certain scent that is when you are burning it, not growing it. In many cases, there is really just a faint hint of the claimed scent when you smoke it, too.

I didn’t have a filter and as soon as I opened the front door to come in I knew there was fresh growing weed inside. It def has an unmistakeable odour. I love it anyway. Natural air freshener.:v:
No Chems added. Better than febreeze.
