I enjoy Indica strains, but have only grown them in photos.
My last grow was this winter, first time with autos. Did everything by the book, with lots of help from this forum, and had great results.
I’m leaning towards growing Grand Daddy Purple. Just what I’m looking for.
Anyone have any first hand input or results?
Any auto you grow is already hybridized with Ruderalis. For cleaner genetics you may want to run photo period.
Search for landrace indicas. They will be pure indica (but only if a photo as @Myfriendis410 suggested.) Autos are crossed with ruderalis, which is neither indica nor sativa.
I realize that. However unless I’m mistaken, I❤️GM promotes Grand Daddy Purple as 100% Indica.
It would be in error if that was what was said. Autos are also ruderalis by definition.

I read, and reread it several times, that’s why I asked here? Didn’t seem right to me.
GDP (photo) is 100% indica, but when you introduce ruderalis to create an auto, you can no longer claim that it is 100% indica. It is then also some % ruderalis.
That said, if you want as close to 100% as you can get with an auto, then GDP will be a good choice. Just be aware of the difference.

I almost bought it today thinking it was. That’s why I came here to ask.
I think they can say 100% indica because other then the ruderalis ( which is neither) there is no other breeds mix in. Most autos seem to be a mix like Strawberry Nugs and Gorilla Glue (which is a totally awesome auto to grow with a sweet flavor and high thc).
My opinion is that the listing should be corrected. It is misleading.
ILGM also sells a strain called ‘Pure Indica’. I’d like to try growing this strain sometime soon.
I would too, and was planning on buying some seeds. But I wanted to make sure this wasn’t a misprint or error. I enjoy Indica, but never heard of a 100% auto Indica.
I’m doing an ILGM Afghan photo and it’s the clear winner this grow. Terpene profile is weighted more to mercene which I don’t care for though.

This northern lights auto claims to be 80% indica and 20% ruderalis. I am currently growing one… 1st try at growing.
Fastbuds has the afghan kush. I think it’s listed as 85 but I can tell you….its definitely more indica than any other autos I’ve grown and I grow indica mostly. I just has a different structure and a very rich green color. It’s getting fed by same res as other plants and it’s just old Mountain Dew bottle green. Close second would be Mazar auto from Dutch passion.

Ive grown Mazar photos several times and it’s one of my favs. It’s always made me wonder why it isn’t more popular?
