I’ve been growing Autos from IGLM for about 4 years now. I’ve tried several strains and grow indoors in tents. I use Happy Frog and fabric pots. I’ve been very happy with the plants and yields so far. I’m now on my third attempt at Durban Poison autos and my first go with the Granddaddy Purple autos. Any other strain of autos I’ve grown in the past would produce plants 3 feet tall or possibly taller with rather large yields. Do the 100% indica and sativa strains just produce smaller plants? None of the previous seven DPs attained a height of more than about 18 inches, and it’s not looking like the GDP’s will fare any better. 4 plant pic is GDP, 3 plant pice is DP. GDPs are 30 days since breaking soil, DPs about 3 weeks out.
Not necessarily. Autos are a crap shoot. Photos will be more consistent from plant-to-plant.
Here are a few examples why I suggest growers avoid autos and grow photos instead. All of these plants are flowering.
I see a yellow leaf at the bottom of a Durban poison. At only 3 weeks from sprout that shouldn’t be happening. What are you feeding? What soil?
No Nutes and Happy Frog
Have you grown gdp autos before? Whose to say they won’t keep growing bigger. Feed them balanced and they might get ginormous
Great examples, that last pic was a nice bud. Your right autos are a crapshoot.
Could try a flush see where your ppm’s are. Maybe they need more nutrients.
This is last years and the year before GDP autos.
Both grown out doors.
9 weeks old 2021 using ILGM nutrients
4 weeks old 2022 using sane nutrients.
Should have just left it at this. Lmao. In my humble opinion, of course.
There are a few experienced growers around who do fine with them, but it’s frustrating seeing new growers getting autos thinking that they are easier to grow. They are not.
Very temperamental indeed!!
For what it’s worth, I have 4 grows of experience - all autos from ILGM. First 2 were grown with Pot4Pot kits and their Superb Soil without nutes. The other 2 I used FF HF/OF blend and Blue Planet nutes.
My experiences were very consistent in terms of plant behavior, growth & yield. I incorporated LST in all grows, and tried to maintain suitable environment within the 3x3x6 tent - ideally 75f/50% RH. Harvests yielded approx 4oz/plant.
With the LST plant heights were also consistent reaching approx 20-24”.
Perhaps it’s just good fortune so far, along with humble expectations, but every ILGM seed has germinated and every plant produced flowers worth enjoying & sharing.
One lesson learned in my brief time in herb horticulture: less is more…
Pic is of most recent grow
Happy growing!
Which was exactly my experience with them. And also lead to my low opinion. Lmao.
Less is more. Practiced that the first time. Worked on banana kush autos 4 ft avg qp per plant with no mixing of soils str8 coco and jacks nutes. 2nd grow half way done, same, wedding cake snd runtz autos looking delishous
Delish indeed.
We did p4p and 2 str8 cocos first time. Our p4p won their kushmas tree contest. We did no testing of any kind. We call it growing KISS, keep it simply simple.
The runtz snd wedding cake sprouted same day, flowering the same time, runtz looks like ive heard, fast finisher, cake gonna go the distance and harvest well.
Same procedure for me with P4P. Only testing was water ph. May give their soil another go next session.
Used rain water and well water, no ph testing.
We are jacks and coco. One of the grow journals we found and used was his first time using coco and jacks. @Hellraiser BUD OF THE YEAR
Master grower of soils snd lots of nutes.
Ha noted the simplicity of both, and he had never seen the responses in growth after transplanting.
He said he would never do soil grows again.
Pretty smooth on both so far.
I’m finishing up two GPD Autos in 7gal fabric pots with FFOF. Both plants are about 3ft tall and loaded with way more buds than I thought I’d get. Especially with my nutrient issues I’ve been experiencing as a first time grower.
3’ tall seems like a good height. Did you train at all?
