Early 80s, we flew Hawaiian islands for possible grows using our SH 2 lamps helos. Our scope jockeys were taught to look for certain heat and color given off. The end result, paraquat was sprayed on all grows.

Dyess air force base locates illegal grows north i 20 along those river thickets all the time, then sherriff teams move in.

It takes a few plants together to give those desired signatures off on scope. Pain in the butt, space them out alleviates the known spectrum looked for.

We did those local fly jobs everytime we deployed from San Diego. Spent two days prior to pulling in on Leo Ops as they were called.

Total PITA. I’m in a legal to buy, illegal to grow state hence all indoors. I’m small potatoes over here so I don’t worry too much.

I vent outside, but this neighborhood has a LOT of skunks roaming around. I even saw one walking down the sidewalk one morning.

Missileman, if it flies, it dies. Thats me.

We carried two helos for hunting subs, they, the 7th fleet admiral had most ships deploying to the western pacific do helo ops for local leo’s.

Still being done, we just had big grow found on the double salt fork brazos i believe using Abilenes Dyess air force technology. Sherriffs are using drones big time. Budgets across the states are gonna employ drone services for everything possible.
