Best nutrients for soil is greenhouse feeding (bio version) its essentially a living soil dry amendments like jacks but you only need the grow and bloom. Extra benefit: its 100% organic. Dont need to add calmag or any extra suppliments. Bio grow and bio bloom is a you need. Can not recommend it enough and its fairly priced.

If looking for ease of grow and little testing then I suggest living soil with top dress amendments. I am able to grow successfully using great lights. A circulating fan. An exhaust fan. RH meter. That is it. I manage complete and solid grows with RH never getting over 50 max lights out. My climate. Lung room environment control vs tent control. I run right at 79degrees lights on. 900w in a 5x5. 65 lights off. Just pointing out it doesnt take a lot to grow weed. GREAT LIGHT!!! You start with that before anything else and the rest will fall in line. HLG is a good light. Any of them will last 5-7 years with good customer service. Spend the money there. Can grow anywhere you can plug that light in. Higher voltage than normal 48. they run 53-54 or so. Just my thoughts on a beginning. Simplicity pays off for me. Dont get caught up in all your numbers first time or 2. Watch the plants. Be consistent. Follow nute lines directions to the letter to start. Problems occur fast. Fixes not so fast. Panic changes or fixes dont work. Relaxed step by step repair everytime. Simplest fixes first. PH, Mag. Calcium will be your most common issues during grow. Overwatering in seedling stage is common and should be avoided. We are here for you and many styles available. If decide a simple living soil this man’s thread is your go to @MeEasy. Simple. Effective. Consistent.

I follow my runoff and meter, nute company schedules are designed to sell you nutes and get you to use them up and buy more. The plants will tell you why they need.

I can see what you are saying but reputable vendors have their products pretty dialed in from my experience. Just my take on it.

Reputable is key word here! Some are just trying to sell you their crap, Jacks is pretty close on theirs, but I still go by the numbers to see what they need. Feeding FF by the chart will either fry them or cause lockout unless you flush religiously.

OHHHH now I get why it’s called 321. :grinning:

@Growdoc
In addition to blossom booster, do you recommend having cal mag and a flushing solution on deck as well?

Going to share my shopping carts later tonight

I definitely keep cal mag. I don’t personally buy flushing solutions, I make my own with weak nute solution with added magnesium. Check the ingredients in products like Sledgehammer and others, usually only a couple ingredients, mag being one. I rarely flush with Jacks, using my solution when I have to, then follow up with a feed at proper ph and ec.

Thanks. I’ll grab sledgehammer and cal mag. Once we get through a few, I’ll start Walter White’ing my own flush

Going to post my cart in a bit here.

Ok,

Here is my feeding schedule. Any tweaks? Do y’all agree with with bring calcium nitrate down to 1.5 instead of 2 during late flowering?

@Growdoc and friends,
Here’s an updated grow schedule incorporating Cal-Mag, Fox Farm SledgeHammer, and bloom booster into the Jacks 321 with FFOF all the way through.

Weeks 1–4: Seedling Stage (No Nutrients)
• Light: 18/6 (18 hours light, 6 hours dark).
• Watering:
• Use plain, pH-adjusted water (6.3–6.8).
• Add Cal-Mag at 1–2 mL per gallon to support seedling development.
• Water sparingly to avoid overwatering.
• Feeding: None (Ocean Forest is rich enough).

Weeks 5–6: Early Vegetative Stage (Light Feeding Begins)
• Begin feeding lightly while incorporating Cal-Mag.

Nutrient Mix (per gallon of water):
• Jack’s 5-12-26: 1.5 grams
• Calcium Nitrate: 1 gram
• Magnesium Sulfate: 0.5 grams
• Cal-Mag: 3–5 mL (if using reverse osmosis or low-calcium water).

Feeding Frequency:
• Feed every other watering (1–2 times per week). Alternate with plain water.

Weeks 7–10: Late Vegetative Stage (Increase Feeding)
• Increase nutrient strength and maintain Cal-Mag.

Nutrient Mix (per gallon of water):
• Jack’s 5-12-26: 3 grams
• Calcium Nitrate: 2 grams
• Magnesium Sulfate: 1 gram
• Cal-Mag: 3–5 mL

Feeding Frequency:
• Feed every watering (2–3 times per week). Alternate with SledgeHammer flush every 3–4 weeks:
• Mix 1–2 teaspoons of SledgeHammer per gallon and water until runoff.

Weeks 11–16: Flowering Stage (Adjust Ratios)
• Transition to a bloom-focused ratio, adding your bloom booster during the mid-flower period.

Nutrient Mix (per gallon of water):
• Jack’s 5-12-26: 3-4 grams
• Calcium Nitrate: 1.5 grams
• Magnesium Sulfate: 1.2 grams
• Cal-Mag: 3–5 mL
• Bloom Booster: Follow manufacturer instructions (typically 1–2 mL per gallon).

Feeding Frequency:
• Feed every watering (2–3 times per week).
• Flush with SledgeHammer every 3–4 weeks.

Weeks 17–18: Late Flower (Flush)
• Cease nutrient feeding and flush with plain water or SledgeHammer to remove excess salts.

Flush Mix (per gallon of water):
• SledgeHammer: 1–2 teaspoons per gallon.
• Use plain water for subsequent flushes.

Watering:
• Water heavily during each flush to achieve runoff.

Notes
• Cal-Mag Use: Continue using throughout the grow, especially if you see calcium or magnesium deficiencies (e.g., rust spots, yellowing).
• Bloom Booster Timing: Introduce during mid-flower (around weeks 12–14) for an extra phosphorus and potassium boost.
• SledgeHammer: Helps prevent salt buildup and maintain soil health. Use sparingly during flush weeks to avoid over-flushing nutrients.

It would be nice so long as the plants can follow your script! Unfortunately they don’t always. Your plan may work out great, but more likely you will need to learn to read the plants as they will tell you exactly what they like and need.

Blossom Booster should be given in place of 321 for the first 2 weeks after flip.

All you need is water til runoff, that will help flush excess salts from media, save the flushing solution for if and when you need to completely flush to reset your media.

Thanks for that feedback.

Should I be aiming for these readings or is this too specific? @Growdoc

•	Weeks 1–4 (Seedling):
•	EC: 0.3–0.5
•	pH: 6.3–6.8

•	Weeks 5–6 (Early Vegetative):
•	EC: 0.8–1.2
•	pH: 6.3–6.8

•	Weeks 7–10 (Late Vegetative):
•	EC: 1.6–2.0
•	pH: 6.3–6.5

•	Weeks 11–16 (Flowering):
•	EC: 1.8–2.2
•	pH: 6.3–6.5

•	Weeks 17–18 (Flush):
•	EC: <0.5
•	pH: 6.3–6.8

Those numbers look fine for runoff, feeds will still depend on runoff numbers. I grow in Promix, which needs 20 % or more runoff, so it self flushes excess nutes out. Using FFOF, you won’t need to feed any nutes at all until week 6 or so, as it has plenty of nutrients in it from the start. Promix gets fed from day one, so you control everything they get. If you add nutes to FFOF before the ppms drop some, you will surely burn them up. Keep an eye on runoff numbers, when it drops to below 1000 ppm, then you will start feeding Jacks.

Fantastic, I appreciate you so much. Just to confirm, I should use 0.7 as the conversion factor for EC to PPM for this nute combo?

@Growdoc

No sir, use the 500 scale. EC to ppm is easy conversion, 500 ppm equals 1.0 EC.
