Lights. Which to buy?

@Graysin hey man, hate to bother you. But i need another light to fill out the grow room. These are what i would consider viable options. My budget is 400 or less atm. What would you go with? Or just general advice? Thanks in advance!! The bloomspect i think its called i had already bought one and it seems good except i Have it over 4 plants and because of the plants getting bigger its reaching its capacity. So my plan was another one of those and rotate it so one light for 2 plants. Any advice or direction is greatly appreciated

No bother. Talk to me about space and intentions.

What kind of room are you needing to fill? Is it going to be for veg, flower, or both?

Also, how are your temps right now? Does it get hot with lights on? I have the bloomspect SS2000 too- it runs real hot.

Spyder Farmer or Mars Hydro IMO. If you can’t step up to an HLG I would go with those.

Yeah the bloomspect runs real hot. Im in a 3x4x8 room. Veg and flower. With the door shut it stays around 30 celcius, but i usually prop the door open for better airflow and it stays at 26-27 celcius.

Awesome! Thank you! i do have a smaller mars hydro light its a little one though like 100watts(maybe) and i do like it. Didnt add as much heat as the bloomspect light. I just needed to add a supplemental light until i can afford an HLG upgrade

I’m a firm believer in KingBrite. I’m a party of 1, I know.

My lights are 2 KingBrite 240w (far left and rear center), one Bloomspect 2000 (center front) and an HLG QB 260XL with an added BSpec panel in the center (far right)

I will consistently purchase the 240w KingBrite over the others when looking at supplemental lighting. It comes with UV and IR diodes and if you grab one stocked in the US, it’s $170-ish. They don’t run hot (only a touch hotter than the HLG) and have good coverage. I got 13 ounces out of one plant under the 240w.

Do you have a link on where to grab one? Or just have to keep an eye out? 170 ish isnt bad at all

Okay. I’ll get off the sales pitch now.

Hit up HLG - grab the Refurbished HLG 300L RSpec. Use code REFURB. Comes out to $264 (roughly)

Or hit up Alibaba - find Shenzhen KingBrite - search the word “drop” - snag the 240w for $170 (roughly)

Or pick up a Viparspectra XS2000 for $229 (plus an extra $40 off coupon if you got Prime).

Okay im going to check out HLG!

Lemme grab a screenshot with the exact one I mean.

If you pull the trigger for a KingBrite lmk - I love mine. But HLG is great for US based (although my KB took about 3 days to arrive :joy:)

Im thinking about pulling the trigger on this HLG rspec. Seems like a good deal and the price isnt much more than the bloomspect

It is a good deal. I’ve been waiting for the bigger lights to get restocked.

HLG ordered! Good looks man, as always!!! That should keep me going and next light will be a bigger HLG.

Just bought that rspec and now it shows out of stock online lol

And this is a dumb question, but do the refurb lights come with those little wires and mounting things? If not no big deal i just will have to order some from amazon

Yeah refurbs should have all the hardware. Some folks here have gotten ‘em and swear they’re brand new lights someone must have returned.

Awesome! Im like a little kid on Christmas over here! Next couple weeks im going to phase my small hydro mars out and replace it with another HLG i think. And i’ll give the mars to my brother so he can do a one plant indoor grow. Btw, as always, your advice comes in clutch…saving me money yet again :rofl:

:joy: if I’m good for nothing else, a great deal is always on my radar. That and seed sales. If I wasn’t saving up for the bigger light, you’d best believe those ILGM Runts would be in my mailbox in the next few days.

Glad to have helped out.

Yeah - Up in Charlottesville is Crutchfield’s flagship home store and they have a warehouse section. It’s full of stuff that’s just a returned item. Some things are refurbed but usually it’s marked on the ticket the exact issue. I don’t think they sell anything as new if it absolutely isn’t. A worker there told me even the ones they open and do specs or random testing on either become display models or are sold at a discount.
I’ve gotten some killer audio stuff in there over the years for cheap!

Yep i dont even need seeds but i want a strain i can grow just for my brother. He loves sour diesel and maui wowwie. Im going to ask him what he wants me to grow next. He was blown away with how fast the seeds grow. He has a whole spare bedroom im trying to talk him into a room mate of the sticky and stanky variety :smirk::smirk:
