Hi I have several questions and I am a first time grower and definitely a noob. I am growing a few plants indoors and I am one of those people that can not afford expensive grow lights. So I used what I had or what I could afford.
Here is what I have. 24 100 watt equivalent 13 watt actual 6500k led bulbs—24 5000k 60 watt equivalent 8.5 actual watts led bulbs. 6-3 strip 6500k shop lights 40 watt actual watts and 8 red and blue 75 watt equivalent led 24 inch led Grow lights. So I have approximately 1200-1300 actual watts in this grow space. Approximately 98,890 lumens. Is this lighting well enough for me to grow weed?
My grow space is 7’ x 5’ so approximately 35 sqft. My lights are on a frame I can raise up and down as close or as far away as I need them. My question is how close should I set my lights to my plants.
Thank you for any response in advance and I have many more questions but I will save them until i have these answered.
I suspect you will do okay during veg because you have all of the colder cct. But you’re going to lack the intensity needed to flower well and plant response from red light that helps flower production.
As long as you are working with those bulbs you are just trading initial cost for operating cost or yield potential. They have about the same efficacy as t5 fluorescent, which means to get more light you need more power, it ultimately just costs twice as much to run or you get half as much weed. You can certainly use them to grow, but they need to be packed pretty tightly to be effective. I’m figuring you probably have enough to flower out a space about half the size you are using. Give or take anyway, I don’t have bulb specs to make an exact assessment.
