When was they last snack?
I was wrong about light height. They were at only 15" for some reason, I’ve now moved them to 28".
Last snack was 308ppm to 25% runoff on November 14th.
Good deal Hope it helps
Feed them anyway or wait it out? Pots still don’t feel very light, but they’re getting there.
good question. @raustin can u peek at the previous convo n pics. I think he could go another day.
Dwc could probably get a feed. @peachfuzz u the goto
No, don’t feed if the soil is still wet, let them dry out completely before you water or feed again.
@raustin, and @PurpNGold74, thank you both for the quick replies and support tonight. Once the pots are dry and they’re ready again, do I increase the nutrients to the next level, in this case week 3 of the feeding schedule? Sounds to me that’s what needs to be done, but I’d rather minimize my mistakes from hereon.
Are you sure your Ph is correct? These plants seem awfully small to be feeding so much.
When I transferred to Autopots, I fed/watered them with that solution (309ppm). My runoff was essentially same numbers, pH came back at 6.1. I’ve only fed them the one time in the Autopots. I take it from your comment that I should leave return to week 1, which according to the chart will be 150-250ppm. Week 2 jumps to 450-550. Your thoughts?
Other than by watering without food, how can I check their pH, inserting one of those two prong pH, light, moisture probe thingies?
How old are these plants?
You can do a slurry test. Just get some soil in a jar and add the same amount of distilled water to it. Shake it up and let it sit for about an hour, then test the water.
@raustin, the first 3 are October 16th, the 4th and biggest, seemingly better growing so far is October 28th, the one in DWC is November 6th. i’ve just prepared a slurry jar to check pH.
Yes, I think you should redo week one instead of going on to week two. Keep the PPM low for now and let’s see what they look like in a week.
Okay, so to be clear, no feeding until the pots are dry. When they are dry, start back to week 1 PPM schedule, pH 5.8. Water to 25% runoff, test runoff for pH. In the Autopots, it’s about 1 gallon per pot.
Thank you @raustin.
No! Don’t water too runoff! Those plants are too small in large pots, they will drown, or rot. There’s your problem, you’re overwatering.
Crap! Gotcha. I may have misunderstood previous advice. Week 1 for ppm, pH 5.8. Keep it to about a quart (500mL)? They’re in a 3 gal. Autopot.
Time will have to fix this part of the equation I think.
Yeah, it’s ok, just let them dry out and they should be fine. A quart is all they need, if that, and water them around the edge of the pot so they’re sitting in dry soil.
@raustin, coco/perlite slurry test shows a pH of 6.1, ppm of 248. Took sample from about 2" deep.
Excellent. 6.1 is a little on the high side, but not too bad, you should aim for 5.8. PPM at 248 is good, keep them there.
So in the end, I’ve overwatered them again, under different circumstances. Feeding could have been better, but it’s good for where they sit now. BTW, those dates were seed into water. You can add 4 days to each before their “heads” popped up. I’ve since learned what their actual birthdays should be. @raustin, thank you very much for all your assistance. I’ll give them a few more days (or whatever they need) to dry up and gently rehydrate them at that time at same ppm. Light has also been raised to 28".
@raustin she is like the wizard of weed for noobs. I think this is her specialty. Her patience and attentiveness to new grows is priceless. She helped my super successful grow more than she will ever know.
