Hello. I’ve been wondering if I need to upgrade my light or nutes. I can’t seem to get big colas like I see others do.
I’m currently using an ac infinity ion grid evo 3, 300 watt for a roughly 2x3 area with only 2 girls. Should I upgrade to a higher output light and what would be a good recommendation? I’ve looked at hlg but they’re expensive and most are recommended for either veg or flower. I want one light for both stages. I like the 325 max but it’s never in stock and close to the watt of my current light.
As far as nutes, what’s the best brand to go for? I use jacks 321, many people say it’s great but since I’ve always used it I don’t have a comparison. I prefer dry nutes instead of liquid but I’m willing to try one if the results are much better. I also give MOAB every other week during flowering and use fox farm ocean forest although I’m gonna start using fox farm coco loco on the next one.
Your light is fine for that footprint. If going dirt and want dry top dress I suggest @Roadsideorganics.ok . 2 parts. Veg and flower. Super easy. Very effective. Mom and Pop company. Ammend and water. Adding life will stretch out ph range a point either way. No life just ph the water. Here is a Jack Herer and Mendo using it.
By the numbers your light is sufficient. Have you check it lately to see if it’s running up to its potential? It’s my understanding that the LED’s wil deteriorate over time. Just a thought.
Alot of them nowadays are good for well over 10,000 hours running time. I been using mine on 18/6 for 6 months and no issues so fsr and its a phlizon. So not the best brand out there
I would also say, a lot of these big colas are more the cameras playing tricks with your eyes by the time they are chopped, dried and cured most are like 7g buds.
Whats your crop look like?
Your lights and nutrients are on point. 240 watts would be the recommended wattage for that grow space and you’re using a quality fixture and nutrients
Photoperoid with sufficient veg time and pruning should do it. Not saying autos dont make big buds. Not for my efforts. Whip out the meter and optimize dli? I missed or forget 8f thats been said
Yeah seems fine. I bought it last April or may so it’s not that old. My par meter says 1600 umol/m/s a few inches from the light. It’s about 8-900 where the plants are
I think you have a fine light, and I see a lot of success with Jacks. What is the rest of the environment like? Is it a tent with air flow and regulated heat and humidity?
Thats some nice growth.
I sometimes think my crop looks small. Then I harvest and im surprised by how much there actually is.
I think you’re doing just good.
Im sure others will agree your crop looks good.
You plant looks great congratulations on the grow. I use green planet nutrients and get great results. I’m changing to jacks myself due to cost. Lots of growers use jacks with awesome results. A lot goes into successful grows. Lights and nutrients are among the top. I’m not where I want to be with my skill level. Training, LST, defoliation are areas I can’t seem to get right. Good luck
Thanks. I got a lot to learn with training as well. I think I need to be more patient during veg and have them fill up the trellis net. I just get anxious about the flower stretch so I switch to 12/12 as soon as they have decently sized branches.
I don’t have a tent but that’s gonna be my next project to improve it. I have them in a closet ( I know it’s not ideal but it’s the only space I have). Temperature is regulated quite well as long as air flow. I use an ac infinity s6 pro. The only thing I can’t regulate a lot is humidity and vpd. Humidity is usually 50-60%. I have a small dehumidifier but plan on getting a bigger one soon.
I’m looking for a build your own type grow tent that just supplies the canvas and support. If you know of any pls lmk. If not I was gonna buy some 600d Oxford canvas and but either tent rods or some other metal support rods. I don’t have a typical size where a premade tent would fit.
