Hello! My second grow. This time only two plants. One is Edelweiss (left) and has what looks like maybe a little too much nitrogen? The one on the right is Panama Red and looks like it has maybe too much or too little potassium in it? I put both in Scotty’s Real Growers Grow dots (full amount) in coco with perlite and they launched. I started also feeding them with Recharge from Scotty’s Real Growers last week and will do so once a week. I have been foliar spraying them daily. Water is ph 6.0-6.5 including in the foliar spray and the humidifier. On the Edelweiss I have just now begun to prune as I understand it needs some pruning to keep it from growing too wild. Their stalks are looking good. There are no red veins this grow though there were earlier on.
I have been feeding them proper light though I have reduced the upper amount with the addition of side lights also so they won’t overheat.
I have been feeding them CO2 with a mushroom bag. They are consistently within proper temperatures only a few times they have gone just a slight bit colder at night around 62 at the very lowest, and that is very unusual. Normally between 68 and 77. Sometimes as high as 69, but that is still within specs for this design acc to AC infinity. They say no greater than 80. Their LED system.
I am thinking of adding some silicon. Maybe some cal-mag, though basic nutrients are in grow dots.
Maybe some sulfur? No idea. So, I am here for some diagnosis discernment from the real pros.
Yellowing with veins remaining green is often a magnesium deficiency. I’ll do some zooming and checking around before I give an opinion on the second one, but at first look the spots and little yellowing may be an early manganese issue.
Thank you. Turns out also if I read grow dots schedule and elements and advice on growing that the release is quicker with higher temperature. The full cycle is only guaranteed really at 70. Im usually at 75. So, when I flip them over to flower this Friday, I’ll add some recharge, some silicon, and I’ll add a small
Amount of TPS cal-mag and TPS one. Or I could add some grow dots to the top, but that will extend the V cycle according to Grow Dots. Since they are time-released.
With the medium being coco the ideal PH would be 5.8-6.0 and watering every day to run off. Coco needs to remain damp, are you checking the run off PH and PPMS? I do see a magnesium deficiency and 1/4-1/2 tsp of epson salts per gallon of water will take care of that as well as sulfur.
do you need some help with this? It’s best to keep it simple and make sure just the needed nutrients are provided. NPK being the big 3 with the addition of the micro nutrients
Well, since I have the temperature higher than 70 and the amount used by the plant increases with heat, I need to probably add a little overall nutrition including the big three. Maybe not/
So, epsom salts and sulfur or epsom salts or sulfur, please? Epsom salts by themselves easy. Walmart grocery store something. Sulfur probably what? Garden supply? If I want them soonest, of course.
Cool, I’ll turn the ph down. Thank you for that, OGI-Wan. Dang! I missed a step last night and my plants endured a steamy 82 degrees for 6 hours. They look fine. I foliar sprayed them last night and again just now. Twice a lighting schedule while in veg, and some say up to the second week of flowering on the flip but no further: added some TPS canopy in the spray last night just to get a touch of carbon/magnesium, since there appears to be a slight mag deficiency.
The epson salt will provide both. I would discontinue all other nutrients but the TPS one, silica and calmag. The TPS provides all the needed macro and micro nutrients needed plus microbes. Feed this daily to run off and maintain an input and run off PH of 5.8-6.0/900-1000 PPMs
I would not be foliar spraying, this can cause leaf burn from the lighting and well as potential mold issues. They will absorb all necessary nutrients from the coco
Bergman’s article on foliar spraying is why I have done so much more this time around. They have loved it. The drainage I do need to check. They are, however, on ACInfinity wicking reservoirs. I transferred the germinated seeds from a germination tray right into 3 gal, opposite the regular guidance, to start veg. The roots are already at the wicking at the bottom of the fabric bags. They’ll remain fed. I need to make sure the ph is good, plus, a little cleanup.
Sorry Growmie, I don’t understand this comment. Using both of these is overloading as they provide the same nutrients. Just trying to help but I’ll step away and let you continue growing your way. Wishing you success
