Good day growers , just a general question on drying and curing. I shoot for 10 days of dry maybe 14 on average 11. Buds snap before i jar them . After about a week they tend to stabilize around 59 61 rh.the smells come and go . By 4th week individual buds still have hayish smell but when broke up smell good. Flavor varies . I tend to get a lot of small undeveloped flower as my training technique is pretty weak apparently. But colas are good. With all this rambling. My question is how long does it really take for flower to cure to where the smells come back good and flavors are there. Im pretty sure i just dont hold on to it long enough i have change to living soil and that has helped my grows but still think i struggle with dry and cure. I hear people talk about at 2-3 weeks their flower is amazing and aroma is strong. I rarely see that at such a short period. Im pretty sure there is something im missing here.
I cure for 8 weeks, but consider 30 days to be the minimum. I use a Cannatrol now, but when air drying i averaged about 7 or 8 days. I used Grove bags and tended to bag them at about 13% moisture content. My experience has been that if the stems are snapping before the cure…they are too dry.
Hey bud, not just RH but temps play a big factor in drying, cooler drying temps will prevent the volatile terps from disappearing, if you can keep lower temps will play a big factor. 50’s, 60’s.. Fahrenheit.. not Celsius

I use my DryDocs now but did hang at 60 degrees and 60 humidity for around ten days. Your smells will always depend on your terps and preserving them. Terps will evaporate at over 70 degrees. Smell usually fully develops after a couple months in jars or bags, I prefer glass to preserve mine. 
That makes sense. I have the same problem as @Bluedream1 our house stays at 75. I bought a smaller fridge for another Drydoc. I think I might start storing in there? In 2 years, nothing I’ve grown has had “that smell” until I break it up.
You can put a humidity sponge in the Doc and set at 60-60 and it will cure in there, but store in jars or bags, don’t leave open buds in it.
10-4 was gonna do the jars in the fridge. Our area is usually 80-90% humidity as well. Always fighting mold and terp degradation, I am now learning. Spelling??? Are we still using the "n"

I run my temps in dry room at 65 degrees. Its as low as i can get it.
Excuse my simplicity but what is a drydoc ?
I used the 1 gallon terp shield packs that work both ways in a quart jar. I went directly from dry on the rack to trimmed and in the jar.
No burp. Watched them stabilize on a cube hygrometer at 62%.
It worked. Best mellow flavor of my first 4 runs.
In addition this brings back the smell of dispensary pot also.
I got these from a hydro shop guy who was chair surfing when I walked in and never really woke up all the way. I asked and got charged for 1 oz packs and he gave me lbs packs.
@Growdoc taught all to make a homemade cannatrol.
About post 95 I think.
