Kush mints week 12 flower foxtailing

Hey growmies I’ve got this kush mints that broke soil around oct 27 give or take a few days. Yesterday was 12 weeks of flower, almost 14 since 12/12 flip. So 147 freaking days old and still has me guessing if she’s ready. I grew the same plant last year and was finished in 10 weeks, and this is 1 of the 3 seeds I got from her. She’s started to foxtail and push white pistils and new growth this past week. Trichomes look close but I still see some clear. I chopped the one cola that snapped few weeks ago just this morning. Could I cut the lights to 10 on 14 off to finish faster? Everything I’ve researched says kush mints flowers 8-10 weeks and is relatively quick finisher. Average ppfd has been 600s at top to low 300s in the middle / bottom.

She looks ready for my liking. Beautiful plant as a whole!

I would turn your lights all the way down and let her trichomes finish to your liking. Normally foxtailing is cause from light intensity. So to combat this you either dial the light down or raise it up.

Awesome grow, I prefer my Trichomes to be cloudy with 10-15% amber. After they are cloudy they are ready when you are. This point in the grow always tries my patience

This is always the aggravating time for me, I don’t want to harvest too early. I also want to take the whole plant at once, not take the tops and let it go longer. I have trouble discerning clear from cloudy so I tend to wait for good bit of amber. I try a sample just to gauge if it’s good, but even that’s not accurate because the bud needs a nice cure to be at max potency and have a good taste etc. I wish there was a magic number for each plant that was always the same, no second guessing, no variables!

I thought my lights were turned down enough, but I’ll try taking them down lower. I was going to run 10 on 14 off this last week, water only and see if that speeds them up. 148 days from sprout seems like way too long. I even had much better environment this over winter grow. Not fighting heat and humidity like summer grow.

I feel the same after many harvests. Here is the way we decide. Look at the techs, and when 3 of us is in agreement it is harvest time.

I just don’t want to pull the trigger too early on this one. This is my last grow for a little while ( until property management does yearly walk through) lol. I was thinking she’s ready.
